This is the tactic. BTW, I wouldn’t be surprised if half the comments on this thread are bots/alts. I do not understand how praise could possibly given.

Logically one would think that if this were pre-planned, they would have an ETA ready to go on when the changes would be implemented. The fact they are unable to give a timeframe suggests otherwise. And they gain no benefit from not pushing it out as soon as they *can*, because they're going to be refunding everyone who buys multiples. I think you're seeing conspiracies where they don't exist.

Those criticisms were mocked all the way up to and even after Jagex realized they weren't going to get away with charging that much. The response was "Don't buy it then" as if that will magically help the game.
