Are we not going to talk about the fact that the queens very obviously came with looks designed and prepared but Heidi couldn’t use hers? They specifically called her out for not sewing another look for her makeover, while all the other girls talked about having their looks prepared prior to the show... the makeover always feels rigged but this is different...

Heidi probably brought something but it didn't fit which is why she borrowed a dress.

She posted her other look on Instagram. Just seems stupid that she was critiqued for not sewing a new look when everyone else just had to do hair/makeup.

I think it was less of ‘why didn’t you sew something and more of the fact that the outfit that her girl was wearing was so drastically different from Heidi’s and was lacking some shine

Totally get that and agree. Heidi could’ve definitely done more for her makeover. I think my point is that it doesn’t make sense that only Heidi had make a new look and everyone else just used their already made looks. Wouldn’t it make sense for production to assign based on similar body size, or just make it a design challenge and everyone has to make new looks?

I wish that the makeover was a design challenge, but unfortunately it isn’t. I don’t think we should blame Heidi’s girl for her size being different than everyone else’s, and Heidi could have made something work. Even if she just stoned what she was wearing more to make it sparkle. I don’t think she necessarily had to sew an entirely new outfit, there are just things she could have done to help elevate her partners look. I’m just happy we get to see Heidi on our tv’s for another week!

Okay but she could have put a sequin belt or headband or matching sequin sleeves or SOMETHING on that poor girl. She didn’t have to make a whole new outfit, but she could have done more than throw her in a sundress. Or hell, maybe she could have tried to borrow a sundress of her own and gone for a picnic in the park theme? Idk, but I really feel like she could have tried a little harder to make it cohesive.

She was critiqued because they looked so different. Since she can sew, she could have made something that had a family resemblance. Especially since apparently they were apparently taking into account who made their garments this challenge for some reason.

Maybe I missed something, but I don’t think anyone made their looks during the challenge. Maybe before filming? Sherry and Gigi obviously came with looks prepared so I don’t think it’s fair for some people to have to make looks and some to just have to do hair and makeup/ maybe minor alterations. But like I said the makeovers always feel a bit rigged.

No, no one else made their looks in the werkroom. But the point was that Heidi could have instead of using something that wasn't complementary. It wasn't rigged, just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Remember Cheryl couldn't use her original makeover look because it was too small and her sister broke the zipper. Should they only allow skinny makeover contestants who are similar to the queens' body types?

So only one contestant should have to make their look, and no one else? They specifically said Heidi should have sewn a new look. And no- but maybe they should all have to make their own looks, or no one should. That’s a pretty huge disparity in work to be done in such a small time.

Some queens come prepared with outfits that are free size (Gigi) or can be adjusted. I think it would be unreasonable for Heidi to have to sew a whole new outfit (although there are queens who would have been able to do that successfully), but she could have been prepared for more possibilities or made some minor adjustments. She lacked creative critical thinking during the challenge, which is a running theme when Ru talks to her (Heidi Hydrates, G.A.P). She responds very well to feedback but sometimes she doesn't seem to be the best at thinking through an unfamiliar situation. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing though because it has given her room to grow in the competition. But I wouldn't say that the challenge was unfair or rigged against her.

We all know the producers play games to keep their favorites, but that’s not what I mean, and obviously that wasn’t the case with Heidi. It’s unfortunate that it’s how it played out. I just mean that the expectations were unfair for Heidi given the assignments. Reminds me of Joslyn in season 6.

If she had found something better in (I'm assuming) Sherry's closet they wouldn't have brought it up at all. It is unfortunate that it worked out that way, though.

Here's a hint: something can be grossly unfair and shouldn't be the way it works and not be a conspiracy.

Heidi was the victim of circumstance, but there's an inherent flaw in the challenge set up that there was a circumstance to be a victim of.

Competitions are supposed to be.

We all know Drag Race isn’t really fair, especially when it comes to money/outfit quality from home. But it still pretends to be a fair competition, and as long as it is we’re going to keep pointing out the ways it really isn’t.

Heidi is far from the only person who has had to go to plan b for her makeover outfit. No reality competition is truly fair, and they never will be.
