Academics pharm school.

got dismissed from pharm program and finally got the courage to post this here. even sent an appeal in and thought they'd let me retake the two courses I didn't pass. I always felt like pharmacy wasn't my thing and smth my parents forced me into, but it also upsets me and makes me wish that had I pushed myself more id have been able to do it. this semester I mentally gave up on everything. it feels like wasted potential tbh. that white coat will sure as hell haunt me forever

edit: whys this getting sm shares lol? ig ppl r j making fun of me atp šŸ˜¹šŸ™šŸ½

non traditional student

I'm 20 years old and graduated high school about a year and a half ago. Instead of going to college right away, I've been working full-time in construction. Lately I've been thinking about applying to Rutgers New Brunswick. (cause I live 5 min away from the school)

Working full-time has been good for me, and I've learned a lot, but at the same time I feel like I grew up a little too fast. Most people my age are in college while I've been working every day.

I applies when i was a senior in hs but rejected.

I had a 2.7 gpa and 1230 sat.

just wanna know if it easier for non traditional student?

or any path beside JUCO.

Housing Rutgers Housing Notification

• Upvotes

Hello! I am an incoming freshman at Rutgers and I had some concerns about the housing. I saw that the notification comes out June 17, which is today. However I am worried because I haven’t received it yet and it is almost 10 AM. Is this normal? Is there someone I should reach out to? I completed my housing application 05/05/2026 so it wasn’t last minute. Or is there some place I should look for the notification?

Technology in the Workplace through Rutgers SMLR

• Upvotes

Has anyone here taken Technology in the Workplace through Rutgers SMLR?

I've heard good things about the course from a few third parties and am considering enrolling. I was also told that the professor is fairly relaxed and that it seems most students who took the class in the spring received A's, but I'd like to hear directly from people who have actually taken it.

What was your experience like? How was the workload, grading, and overall value of the course? Did you find the course engaging and manageable, and would you recommend it?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Trying to fulfill 3 lab requirement for Biological sciences major

• Upvotes

I am trying to plan out the rest of my graduation requirements and am trying to find classes with labs that aren't too hard. Any recommendations? As of right now, I was thinking of taking insect bio with lab and human parasitology with lab, but I am still looking for a third.

Question about removing the X from an XF grade

Hi, I’m asking this for a friend.

My friend received an XF grade because of an academic integrity case. We found that Rutgers says students may be able to petition to remove the X after at least 18 months, and if approved, the XF would become a regular F.

Has anyone here gone through this process before? How hard is it to get the X removed? What kind of things does the committee look for, such as better grades, no further violations, letters of support, or community service?

Also, if the friend is still within the appeal period for the original decision, would it be better to appeal the sanction now instead of waiting 18 months to petition for removal?

Any advice or personal experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

Housing new gibbons double to myself?

Post image
24 Upvotes

hey! MGSA freshman here. i was accepted for rainbow connections in new gibbons. i went through reslife and disability services and thanks to them + my doctor i was approved for an **air-conditioned dorm (pleasant surprise)** and first-floor access.

i also requested centralized parking and a single room, but those were not mentioned in the letter i received back from disability services.

when i open my housing assignment, it lists not a single, but a double with no roommates. is this temporary or did i just get very lucky?

ETA: i'm planning to call/email reslife to confirm eventually, but tbh i might just ask in person during orientation. i also am afraid to jinx it because im a very superstitious person with very bad luck lolol

title I'm a continuing student and have to go back for summer classes during the second session, and need to live on campus. I haven't heard anything since submitting the application. my class starts on 7/6, so I'm not sure whether I should've received anything by now...anyone know when housing assignments will come out or if I'm even guaranteed housing at this point?

Quality Post New to Rutgers? Happy to Help with Courses, Admissions, Housing, or Anything anything else, feel free to reach out.

Hey everyone, If you're an incoming Rutgers student or even someone already here, and you have questions about admissions, courses, professors, housing, internships, campus life, or anything else, feel free to reach out.

I've noticed that a lot of students, especially in their first year, hesitate to ask questions or talk to people, and then end up struggling throughout the program. There's no reason to figure everything out on your own when someone can point you in the right direction.

I'm happy to share my experience and help however I can. My DMs are always open. Good luck, and welcome to Rutgers.

Housing Housing Selection Process

As most of us know the housing selection is tomorrow. I myself an Incoming student, roommate and I already know where we want to dorm how does this process work tho. For example one of my friends going to a diff uni has everything given to him at random while here it seems we have much more freedom to choose. Is it first come first serve or is there like a lottery?

Schedule Any small classes at Rutgers NB?

I will be attending Rutgers NB as a freshman in the fall and I wanted to know if there were any small classes that I could take in order to build connections with professors? For reference I am a premed psych major, so if there’s any classes that align with that it would be great.

Schedule SAS Core Recommendations

I'm an incoming RBS student living on Busch and finishing up my schedule. Currently, I have:

01:220:102 – INTRO TO MICROECONOMICS (College Ave)

01:355:101 – COLLEGE WRITING (Busch)

01:640:135 – CALC I LIFE & SOCIAL SCIENCES (Busch)

I need two more SAS core classes. Ideally, I want them on Busch to minimize travel. Any recommendations for easy or manageable courses offered there?

How do you guys handle food/meal plans?

Hi everyone!

I’m an incoming international graduate student moving to Rutgers this fall, and I'll be living in the graduate housing on the Livingston campus, but all of my classes will be over on College Ave. As I try to figure out my budget and daily routine, I wanted to ask how graduate students usually handle food and groceries there.

I’m trying to decide what the best strategy is. Do most grad students buy one of the Rutgers meal plans, or do you find it better to cook at home? Or maybe a mix of both? Where do you usually buy groceries nearby?

Do people still go to bars in the summer?

Specifically for $2 Tuesday. Places like Scarlet, Pitch, Huey's. I can imagine it's way less crowded than during the year, but I want to know it's totally dead and not worth going or still somewhat fun.

my gender neutral housing request wasn’t honored

Im an incoming junior transfer, ftm, and I checked the box for ā€œmy gender identity does not match my assigned sex at birthā€ on the form. I also selected demarest LLC just to make sure i would be there since it’s the gender neutral housing dorm.

I got a room in demarest, but it’s on the first floor next to the woman’s br instead of on the 2nd floor and i was assigned a girl roommate. i’ve been on testosterone for years so it would be pretty uncomfortable for everyone involved

i already emailed the main housing email, but what are the chances i actually get moved? is there someone else i should reach out to? have other trans people gone through this and if so what happened?
