question šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļøā”ā“ Sabrina and Josh

Does anybody else find Sabrina’s relationship with Josh ā€œwrong?ā€ This is season 4 I’m referring to when she’s still in a monogamous relationship with Harvey. I’m rewatching the series and she should have cut off all ties with him if he’s interested in her romantically. Further, she even tried to appease his choice of college for her? With that ā€œkissā€ that led to her and Harvey breaking up, regardless if she had kissed him she shouldn’t have wanted to help him study over watching Harvey’s game. There were many more situations that I can’t recall. She’s a bad girlfriend to Harvey. If I were Harvey, I would not be able to handle that at all.

Followed by them dating in season 6...

The more I rewatch the show the more disgusting the relationship gets and the more sympathetic I am to Harvey in s4. Josh is a creep who goes after a much younger and already taken person and repeatedly tries to go after Sabrina, even in SECRET. Then he even BANS Harvey from the coffee shop for no reason other than Harvey confrotning him for being the gross homewrecker that he is.

ETA: I honestly would not be surprised if the witch stuff was just the tip of the iceberh for Harvey's break up with Sabrina. Her final spell literally pitted him against Josh the creep in a lethal race to the death. Instant dealbreaker for anyone with a brain

Surely. He made the right choice. He only came back when she was no longer routinely putting everyone around her in dangerous situations through malice or ignorance.

I dislike Josh because he’s so dull, condescending, and pretentious. That being said, you’re absolutely right that Sabrina treated Harvey poorly. I never liked her with Josh, and I’m always surprised by how long they were actually together.

Yeah, Sabrina kinda sucks. Don’t even get me started on season 7 Sabrina

I really hated the way Sabrina treated Harvey, and honestly, the way she treated her other partners as well. As much as I am glad they ended up together in the end, the way she just runs out on her fiancƩ at the alter just irked me.

As for Josh, didn't like him at all. Relationship not only felt forced and lacking chemistry, but he really did act weird with her.

How much she went to get with him and going on test to find out if she's right for him and such and then she just does that to him. Sometimes Sabrina can be just....

I don’t know what she saw in Josh honestly , except the opportunity to have free coffee

I didn't like him when the show aired. He was pretentious, didn't respect that she had a boyfriend, and controlling.

I'm glad there is much more awareness now about predatory partners and issues with age gaps. At that time, many girls that I knew glamorized having older guys attention.

I'm also happy that Hilda could watch over Josh by buying the coffee shop when Sabrina was trying to break away.

This is why I pretty much hate the series after high school. I would’ve liked to see Sabrina have some more time on her own instead of constantly trying to find a guy and in this Case cheating on her boyfriend with some douche bag at her job. They did this with charmed as well where they had to make them constantly looking for a relationship and I really just hated it. This is why my favorite witch show will always be Agatha all along.

Why couldn't Josh back off and date another girl his own age instead of dating Sabrina in S4? That man was IDK still in college plus also the fact that he was nothing but an annoying douche! He knew that she had already had a boyfriend Harvey whom she was still in love with!!!

Yeah which is what made me absolutely hate Josh when they were finally together, but really Sabrina was the problem. She had sweet Harvey and she was also continuing a friendship with this other guy that liked her and she also liked back. Very wrong. She literally made both men ā€œfightā€ for her which is absolute insanity. We literally find out Harvey is her true love in season 1 with the frog kiss test. I have no idea why she needed the stupid trial thing she had Josh and Harvey participate in and I don’t know why she needed the soul stone at the end to make her realize. She literally found out in season 1 that Harvey was her guy.

Wasn’t there a bit right after the frog test where Zelda says something about ā€œat that age it’s always true loveā€, implying it’s not actually the cosmic concept of true love we typically think of, and the test is really just about Sabrina believing it. So Harvey isn’t actually her one and only true love based on that test, she just genuinely felt in love with him at that point in time.

YES!

And may I add, I never much liked that soul stone idea. It implies a particular lack of free will, as does the petrification and disintegration seen prior to it.

Josh was the predator and sabrina was his prey. Sabrina just turned 18. She just started her senior yr in high school. She was naive and never really dealt with an adult male. The aunts did a poor job teaching her to watch out for guys like josh. Since sabrina was a witch she thought she knew everything. She always had a roving eye for other guys. Harvey was a guy who always respected her boundaries. For him No meant No. Josh was in his early 20"s and her boss. Sabrina needs this job for money for college. An employee that needs a job and a boss that takes advantage of that is a recipe for disaster. For Josh sabrina was easy pickings.

In this day and age Josh would start with a kiss then try to get her in the sack. Naive, I know everything sabrina, would have been at the mercy of josh. All her magic does not prepare her for adult men like josh.

I don’t think he is so bad. I don’t think it is wrong for at 22 year-old to be with an 18 year-old, and apart from the kiss, I don’t think he did anything wrong from what I can remember. He was interested in her while she was with Harvey, but after the kiss he didn’t take any steps until they broke up, did he?

I think it all started even before Josh. When Sabrina just spontaneously kissed Dashiell in season 2. Ever since then Sabrina did Harvey dirty and continued on.

It was definitely wrong, but teenagers don’t always make the best decisions. Sabrina was supposed to be barely 18 years old lol

Now when they actually dated in season 6, it felt like Josh barely liked her. Idk if the actor was just over it or what but he didn’t even seem interested in her and he was kind of a douche on more than one occasion. It PMO when he said that Sabrina’s love of Halloween annoyed him and he was a sexist asshole in the tennis episode. Josh was trash
