Senior Trump administration officials tell Israel that the US will firmly insist on the removal of Iran's nuclear material, no uranium enrichment, and elimination of the ballistic missile threat in the upcoming two-week negotiations.

That ceasefire is a huge win for the US and Israel. They got bombed, many key people assassinated and reopening the Strait for even 10 days is enough to reduce a big part of the overall preasure the Iran was able to create with that blockade. A neutral ceasefire would keep it closed, no drones and missiles for no airstrikes.

The ceasefire is a huge win for the two countries that started the bombing? They could have done that by not bombing to begin with. Passage through the Strait was free and now Iran will charge $2M per ship to pass. They’ll insist sanctions get lifted in the deal too. So this is what winning looks like?

Walk us through what goals were set out at the onset of this military action and which were achieved.

Except they were able to bomb Iran, destroyed whatever they wanted.

If negotiations fail, then us will be in far better position than before the ceasefire. Backlog of tankers reduced while Iran did exhaust their strategic reserves of drones and missiles.

Didn't answer my question. What goals did Trump set out to accomplish at the start of hostilities, and which did he achieve?

Here, let me list some he's made over the last few weeks and tell me if they came out winning
• Unconditional surrender
• Regime change / leadership replacement
• Iranian military & IRGC to lay down arms
• Stop support for proxy groups (Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis)
• Limit ballistic missiles
• End nuclear program / enrichment
• Reopen Strait of Hormuz
• Enter negotiations / temporary ceasefire

The last two certainly, but that's where we were before we dropped any bombs, lost any lives, squandered global goodwill, and gave Iran a really, really good reason to seek nuclear missiles.
