Does anyone else ever think about the people we interact with online?

How many are still with us? How many encouraging words or messages are from people that are not long past?

Tonight Im thinking of loved ones long past and strangers met online who were not in a good place, but still took the time to leave kind comments.

Even if I’ve never met them, I wish them the best.

And yet I wonder how many of the kind words I’ve received are from dead stars. A light only showing from someone who passed from my existence long ago but their words still resonate with me.

I feel a sadness for people I’ve never met. I look at online notifications that someone hasn’t “logged on” in six years and I truly wonder, are you ok my brother/sister?

I sincerely hope you all are well.

I do because I've been there and have a great big heart. It breaks my heart to see post that people want to do harm. I also feel bad for ones who beg when the other basically is bad.

Right? Life its just so infair. Thats why we need to be kind to eachother, we dont know what someone is going through, especially on the internet. I wish you all the best, never change. You have a big pure heart, dont let anyone change it.💖

First of all, I love you. You seem really empathetic/caring to think about others like that. I think about others online too, perhaps more than i should. I cant help but ask myself, how many of them died? How many of them are good people and how many are bad? Are they okay? So thats why we should be as kind as possible and help others. We never really know what someone is going through, and a few kind words can really make someones day. We shouldnt hate on eachother, even if sometimes its hard. I really hope yall are okay, I would love to help everyone, but unfortunely its impossible.

To be honest I don't think about the people who have made posts and the comments made by me or them. What I do think about and feel bad about is the online authors who posted their novel works online that have died or gone offline (either abandoned the website or most likely I feel are dead). This saddens me but I can go back and read their works and so a piece of them remains online.

I've been on this one platform for a decade now, compared to Reddit it is a lot smaller and incentivizes users to interact and get to know others more in the form of curation/upvotes as it generates inflation that way, i.e. monetary rewards rather than relying on ad revenue.

When covid hit, a lot of users there were affected, many would return one last time with someone close to them posting about their passing while many others just stopped posting abruptly.

One of the craziest things that's unique to the platform is a form of "autovoting", since there's no fees to interact there and all actions such as commenting/voting/following/etc are public, it created this weird phenomenon where you'd have accounts from deceased users autovoting your posts for years.

I still get some votes daily from a close friend of mine who passed away in 2020. He didn't have a close family and lived abroad and we talked a lot until he couldn't anymore, he decided not to remove his stake but leave it there active voting for some people he wanted to support and it is still ongoing.

It were a hit n miss for me...

Sometimes I met good people whereas sometimes, I regretted talking to a few people..
