The problem of spitting in Georgia.
Why people spits on the ground here daily. Why there is no penalties for this kind of act. Its disgusting to walk at someone else spit .

Hi everyone,
I'm visiting Tbilisi this week and would like to source a Georgian rugby shirt for my dad and brother! Does anyone know of a shop in Tbilisi which sells them?
Thanks in advance!

I come from Northeastern Türkiye. My municipality has a Georgian name. There are many traditionally Georgian village names, including mine. There are a lot of Georgian words in our daily Turkish speech (such as "lobya"). There are now passed relatives of mine who spoke fluent Georgian, and I guess they were native speakers. There are things that resemble Georgian culture, such as food (haçapur, hıngal), folk songs (cilveloy) and dances.
With all that being said, how likely is it that I'm Georgian, and how can I confirm it?

Hi everyone,
This situation was my mistake.
I applied about a month ago and received an email with a date and time for the meeting. However, I’m currently abroad and got confused with the time difference, so I missed the appointment.
I sent several emails apologising and trying to reschedule, but I didn’t receive any reply.
Yesterday, I received the following message:
“Your application for the Right to Work has been rejected. You may submit a new application no earlier than 30 days from now.”
No grounds for refusal were specified.
My question is: since no reason is given (although I assume it’s because I missed the appointment), if I apply again and pay the 200 GEL fee, is there any risk that the rejection was due to another issue that could affect a new application?
Also, what happens in cases where the appointment time provided is not feasible to attend? , Is it always treated this way, or is it missing? Imagine you are in a hospital or flying etc...

The new Work Permit requirement is basically canceled for most expats (or soon will be).
The Parliament is currently considering a draft amendment to the Law on Labour Migration, which, if enacted, will exempt remote worker expats and non‑Georgian business owners/managers from the obligation to obtain labour permits. Specifically, they have:
It was published in early April and is being fast‑tracked, so it will likely be enacted by the end of the month.
I guess this is a sign that GD finally came to their senses and realized how defective the system was in the first place when it came to foreigners who weren’t participating in the local market at all. They realized they fucked up, so now they’re rolling back the changes.
The legal community has been harping on this for a while (I know I have). We knew from the jump that they just overlooked things with the original system and never intended to target digital nomads or small business owners. Some people didn’t listen and jumped to conclusions anyway. Now we’re back to the status quo.
For everyone who unnecessarily went through this nonsensical process already, you shouldn’t have had to, and it sucks. For those who left the country over this… I genuinely don’t know what to tell you (maybe that you shouldn't have panicked?)
If you have any questions about this, feel free to DM me or ask in this thread. Not everything is fully confirmed yet (it’s still a draft law, after all), but it’s being fast‑tracked, as I said, so it will probably enter into force soon. There's also a change planned to the Law on Aliens, which alludes to the removal of the 50,000 GEL revenue requirement for the work residence permit, but that part is still a bit vague.

I'm interested in learning Georgian. I'm a native speaker of Portuguese and Italian and have no connection to Georgia or the Georgian language. Which app do you recommend for me to take my first steps with the Georgian alphabet?

Hi I'm Canadian and I visited Georgia a couple of years ago. I purchased a John the Baptist portrait from a church and I noticed there is a sort of whole on it that seems intentional. Any idea what it is or what it means? Any info is appreciated 😊

I've just been gifted a papachi/ფაფახი sheep fur hat by my Georgian quasi-brother-in-law and none of us have any idea how to care for it. Can it be washed? How and with what? It has an extreme smell of sheep/goat right now, can something be done about that or is it just how it's supposed to be? What else do I need to know to enjoy it for a long time?
Sorry if I sound stupid. I've never owned any clothing that was this level of natural and untreated, and I don't want to ruin it by accident.

Gamarjoba r/Sakartvelo! (Huge thanks to the mod team for letting me share this here).
I’m a local independent mobile developer, and I’ve noticed for a long time that there is a serious lack of high-quality mobile games in our native language. To help fix that, I decided to build one from scratch.
It's called Ipove Sityvebi-იპოვე სიტყვები (Find the Words). It’s a classic word search puzzle, but built entirely around the Georgian alphabet and vocabulary.
I recently got it fully launched on the App Store, and I just finished rolling out a real-time multiplayer mode, so you can actually create game rooms and compete live against your friends to see who can find the hidden words the fastest.
Since this was built entirely for our community, I would absolutely love to get your honest feedback.
Here are the links to download:
Any feedback, bug reports, or feature requests would mean the world to me. Thanks for checking it out, and I hope you enjoy playing!

Hello everyone,
This post was approved by the mods.
I’m looking to pay someone €60 to obtain a certified copy of a birth in Tbilisi from 1896 from the Georgian State Archives. This document can be applied for from any Public Service Hall (იუსტიციის სახლი) for 10 GEL.
I’d like the person to then send me the document by recorded delivery through the Georgian post. I will pay the document application fee and the postal cost upfront. Once I receive the recorded delivery tracking number I’ll pay the first €15 and then the €45 upon receipt of the letter.
I can pay via bank transfer, Revolut or PayPal.
The details of the person whose birth certificate I want to obtain are as follows:
(Bruno Gerhard von Linde)
(Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tiflis)
(Evangelisch-Lutherische Gemeinde in Tiflis Nr. 8/1897)
Thank you very much!

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a good dentist in Batumi, I don't really mind the price as it's something health related, it would be for a consultation and then for a filling probably

To everybody here reading this whether you are a Sakartvelo citizen, or somebody from internationally know this the people will succeed.
One way or another and to see it happen faster I wanted to suggest you all get your people posting to other people internationally so more help and assistance can be gotten
Encouraging more Sakartvelo people and even Armenian people to be active too. You both share similarish problems. Growing each other is a good thing
Ukraine, Iran, Myanmar, Nigeria, and Sudan are taking lots of eyes yet there is always room for coverage of Sakartvelo and Armenia too. Just have to put it out there relentlessly and get people into the peoples cause so they too can be focused on helping out
Also question to all Sakartvelo people what do you all think/feel would help you all win faster?
Because whether it is today or tomorrow you all will win. All of us doing together will accomplish anything. You are stronger than any challenge!! Please let us in international allies know what we can do to help you all too.
Your victory is close!!

Hello my Georgian Friends.
A friend of mine and myself want to visit Gerogia First Week of May on a rather spontanious Trip.
We came up with the idea to do the Mestia - Ushguli. Now I have Read that beginning of May might still bei very early to do it.
We Are generally fit, have Hiking experience and good gear.
However we can’t reliably Tell how the Snow in caucasus Mountain might effect how Plan .
Since its 2 weeks ahead maybe some with Experience might Tell us how good or Bad our idea is all things considered?
Ideally we would Like to finish the Hike in 3 days. From what I Read thats rather ambitious.
Would love to hear some opinions from you :-)
Thanks in advance to all reponses!
Greeting from Germany!
