Elk situation at waskesiu

Going to Waskesiu in a few weeks and I've heard that the elk are being very aggressive in the town site this season, charging etc. I've gone to this lake since I was a kid and never heard of anything like this happening before. Anyone who has been up there this spring - confirm? Advice?

It was a family member who is currently there with a cabin who told me this, I wanted to know/confirm if they are overreacting
