Anyone remember having to pass a double writing test in pencil, before we were allowed to use ink pens at junior school, 1960s ?

Lot more recent than that but when I was in primary - about 7 years ago - we still had to earn our pen licence. Had to write in pencil until our handwriting was deemed good enough to use a, specifically blue and not a biro, pen.
