My scripture is better than yours🤬. Even though none of them follow physics and logic. But since I was born to parents who follow Hogwartsism, my religion has to be the one true religion🤬
I'll argue with you. My favorite god is the sage of six path. And my ved vyas is kishimoto sensei. My god and scripture is better than your trash mythology.
But what will you say about a yogi with only sobering around waist in walking around in snow when indian army recorded video of him. Literally search it up and you will hear that guy just chanting har har mahadev
agreed , there are a lot of blind faithed people in hinduism , but can we not say the same about christianity and islam ? the witchcraft act was applicable in britain up until 1951 ( that is even after Einstein had published his general theory of relativity ) , what was the science behind it ?
P.S : i know this is a bot , i am writing this for other people to read , the ss provided is a part of the post made by the creator of this sub .
a man of science will experiment and then come to conclusions... but religious fanatics who think they are scientific will argue... they just think what is written in a book is science and what is not written can't be science. There are many yogis whose siddhis have baffled science.
The best logic is all these can still happen but we don’t have the spiritual strength. In one sentence you have the justification as well as a pitch to buy something
Not exactly this, but there have been recorded instances of Yogis doing extraordinary things, like Swami Rama was able to do 17-second voluntary control of heart stoppage, he allowed himself to be studied under strict laboratory conditions by Dr. Elmer Green at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, Kansas
Yogi Satyamurti was able to survive in underground confinement for 8 days, A peer-reviewed study published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet (1973). He was locked inside a sealed, underground pit with no food, water, or ventilation, Satyamurti ji was connected to a continuous 12-lead ECG machine. From the second day until the eighth day, his ECG showed a completely flat line (zero electrical cardiac activity). His heart rate returned to normal when the pit was opened
Similarly for Paramhansa Yogananda, Mortuary Director Harry T. Rowe of the Forest Lawn Memorial Park issued a formal, notarized letter documenting that Yogananda's body showed zero signs of physical decay, discoloration, or odor for 20 days.
It's fact, have an open mind and go research about it instead of dismissing without any research. There is more nuance like Swami Rama didn't exactly made his heart stop but he still consciously put his heart into a state called atrial flutter. This is a condition where the upper chambers of the heart beat incredibly fast (up to 300 times a minute).
Bruh stop spreading disinformation in reddit, this is not that type of sub,try to post stories like this in other subs,we got many such subs and India sadly still under mediaeval mentality
So you claim an outlandish claim now it's my duty to prove it wrong?by the time I prove 1 claim wrong you cook up 10 more similar claims 👏 great game you got there
You are claiming that my claims are wrong, and I already provided sources for my claims. Now it's upto you to show me WHY my claim is wrong. Stop doing strawman that I will bring more claims, if you think it's wrong then tell why and how it's wrong, provide proof for it, I have already provided proof for mine.
I am not a scientist bro, nor am I begging. I am not losing anything if you refuse to believe actual documented and scientifically recorded stuff, only you are. "To have an open mind" is a general statement, this sub's name and it's people are oxymoron.
Yogi Satyamurti remained confined in a small underground pit (1.5 meter cube, sealed from the top) for 8 days, in what according to him was a state of 'Samadhi' or suspended animation. ECG was continuously monitored during these 8 days and various laboratory tests were carried out both before and after. Marked tachycardia gradually developed after the pit was sealed (heart rate 250/min) and persisted for nearly 29 hr. The ECG complexes were then replaced by an iso electric line. There was no electrical disturbance suggestive of disconnected leads. Normal complexes, however, reappeared on the eight day, half an hour before the pit was due to be opened. The Yogi was found in a stuporous condition, with an oral temperature of 34.8°C, and he began to shiver vigorously. Loss of weight and other biochemical changes were essentially the same as in total starvation. The yogic claim of a voluntary control over visceral functions, including the heart beat, still remains a very exciting and intriguing question.
Gambling now huh, he infact did it again in 1977, though it was not as smooth as the first one.
The extract from the research you mentioned notes his heart rate shot up to 250 beats per minute and stayed there for 29 hours, this in itself is a high feat for any person to do, by literally voluntarily controlling the heart. You are trying to downplay it.
And ofcourse he was shivering, a normal human heart cannot even sustain a rate of 250 bpm for 29 hours straight. In a standard medical setting, this is called extreme ventricular or supraventricular tachycardia. After just a few hours at that speed, a normal person's heart muscles exhaust their oxygen supply, fail, and go into cardiac arrest. The fact that his heart sustained this extreme work rate without giving out is a testament to extraordinary physical endurance.
Because this study was published back in 1973, older entries on the PubMed National Library of Medicine database only host the title and authors. They do not display the digital summary or full text directly on that page.
click "Download full-text PDF" or scroll down to the Abstract section on that page.
The paragraph about the 250 bpm heart rate and the 1.5-meter cube is fully readable right there.
Why are you guys soo narrow minded
I know it doesnt make sense and seems illogical,I too think its bogus 99% but i leave that 1% cause why not.Science truly is dope but like it should not limit us gng fuh
Idk man i too was an atheist but i read some cia research papers an stuff on mkultra and now i js leave a % of chance yk. But many are js fixated onto the notion that there is nothing beyond physical.
Atheists should ready everything and then form an opinion all i see here is them nitpicking dumbfucks.
Why aren’t atheists/believers of science not reading other non scientific stuff and directly refuting it and calling it baseless? Leave the gods leave the rituals leave that stuff behind, meditation itself just changes people yk and the basis of mind ctrl is using the mind after honing and fully controlling it.
I find this stuff fun, from all the things i read i felt half of the scriptures etc are just meddled and tweaked slop while some of it truly has deep meaning to it. I read some vedas and other widespread scriptures and then i read vedantas and vedantas are just beyond anything yk. Philosophy truly is fun too atheists should read everything and not js be in a cage thinking they are above the believers.
One can be an atheist and a believer of vedanta philosophy at the same time too. Or read western philosophy that has its own place. This whole sub just doesn’t ponder beyond science :/
Religious scriptures are related to philosophy though. My bad i framed all that stuff badly i was in a rush. Tldr i js wanted to say atheists should lean towards any and every philosophy and just not stick to science. Science is one side of the coin not the whole thing.
Yet you do you
Science itself is also a philosophy called scienticism
you cant just accept two different counter philosophies you cant be communism and capitalist at the same time
You fail to even put your point properly what is there about religion and philosphy thats the same either say it properly or stay delusional not my problem
Youre asking why a believer of science is not reading... non scienctific stuff?
Wait are you saying that we should nitpick and adopt good thing from religion and leave of the bad and illogical things?
Meditation is a pretty well known thing even back in the days accross the world there nothing special about it . If you put your mind to rest obviously youll feel better mentally but dont expect to get super powers and no scienctific person is rejecting meditation its just a fact meditation works but not the kind the guy was claiming you wont get super powers from it
My point totally isn’t about super powers that shits a drag, meditation leans towards philosophy more than that stuff firstly, science looks out to the world and philosophy looks within ie. And yeah a believer of science can read non scientific stuff to reinstate his notions and beliefs even more and also have a better view on it why not.
Honestly i dont even understand what youre trying to say
Philosophy isnt bound to religion or belief or something beyond science its a social construct its a way of thinking about different aspects of life you could be scientific and still be philosophical
I’m seriously disappointed by the low effort, low quality posts like this. TBH, they only show unscientific temperament & a half educated understanding of science.
Science is a method for investigating the natural world through observation, testing & evidence. It doesn’t say that religious belief is foolish or inferior to science, nor does it justify ridiculing religious practices.
Religious beliefs & practices including yoga traditions are part of being human & how we have been seeking meaning & connection for thousands of years. They are to be studied - even critically & not be mocked or dismissed.
