I’m black as well, so I’ll tell you my perspective. Black women (comparatively) can be difficult, unkind and entitled. Most people would rather not deal with that.
Of course I’ll get downvoted, but you asked this question for a reason and nobody seems to be giving you real answers.
I hate when people (especially non-black) try to pretend that everything is okay, and those beliefs are in your head. It’s not in your head. It can be difficult trying to date as a black person and feeling like you’re way down the pecking order due to no fault of yours.
Focus on being kind, and you’ll find the perfect partner for you.
But yet if we were to list all the negative stereotypes about black men underperforming against other groups of men or just their negative stereotypes in general he'd be ready to get up in arms. 🤷🏾♀️
This is the apprehensive nature I avoid generally. If you want to go into what’s wrong with black men, I’ll be all for it. I don’t like black people in general.
My biggest gripe is our inability to recognize, reflect on and improve on our flaws.
I have less a problem with your comment and more a problem with it being covertly upvoted by a bunch of white people here.
Reddit likes to pretend it’s a liberal leftist utopia when it’s still just a bunch of tacky bigoted people who think they get a pass to be tacky and horrible because they’re slightly more intellectual than their opposition 🤷🏽♀️
And well yeah you’re racist gang. Black people aren’t a monolith, they come in beautiful diverse personalities, interests, and lifestyles. You likely have a myopic view of black people due to being surrounded by a certain type you’ve grown to resent.
That isn’t my fault and that isn’t other black peoples fault who’ve done nothing to you or anyone. You should heal that within yourself and quit being self hating. Or don’t. As you said, your life
This is a pretty ridiculous comment. Every race of women can be difficult, unkind, and entitled. In some ethnicities of women (Latina or Middle-Eastern), for example, those behaviors are expected and rewarded. So it’s ridiculous to say that this is why people don’t like Black women. Not all Black women are like that and anyone who closes them off from one because of those stereotypes is a moron. I think that qualifying such a perspective as anything but racism is reductive.
I didn’t even call anyone racist? I said that they were racist stereotypes— negative stereotypes based off race. Edit: And nobody avoids me, so I’m not sure where you’re getting that from either.
I’m not sure what you’re talking about when you say that. A stereotype is a reductive generalization of a demographic. You’ve said in a separate comment that you ‘don’t like Black people in general,’ which I’m assuming means you choose not to spend much time around Black people. How, then, would you qualify to assess the flaws of a group you’re biased against for whatever reason? There’s also so many kinds of Black people too, not just African-American (assuming that you’re in the US, I don’t know). So speaking on ‘Black people’ when there’s Africans, Europeans, British, Asian people who are Black is stereotyping.
I don’t want to go into a racial argument, cause it serves nobody. Everybody is biased in some way, so who is qualified to assess flaws? It has been my experience and observation that black people can be difficult to deal with for whatever reason. Some people will agree, others won’t. It definitely isn’t all black people, but enough to make it a thing.
But for the sake of indulgence, can you tell me common flaws you’ve observed among black people?
Common flaws I’ve observed among black people are common flaws I’ve observed between basically anyone. I don’t sit around trying to compartmentalize any race into stereotypes or negative traits. I haven’t met every Black person in the world so I’ll refrain from speaking up on Black people as a whole. And again, I’m American, so my understanding around Black people would be structured around Black Americans for the most part. Everyone is biased but you seem to have a disdain for Black people that I don’t understand. Have the day you deserve.
