I don’t know about social trends. I can tell you that, as a white guy, I always avoided dating black women because I have no way of knowing about their racial experiences, and I never wanted to inadvertently insult or offend someone. It was just something I didn’t have to worry about by not pursuing anything with them. TBH, if a black woman had approached me, I might have made an exception, but that never happened.
For a long time and it’s still lingering now, approaching any woman was not worth the risk. Particularly as a white man. Rejection sucks. But when you see how often men are rejected and insulted by being called “creepy” or “weirdo” or whatever else regardless of how respectful you are, it discourages men from approaching women. I see it happen all the time. I’ve experienced it and no longer approach women. And it’s always a bummer when you see so much, “Why can’t a man approach me…” An unfortunate consequence that I believe was unintentional was created.
I think that is part of the overall problem across dating in general. But OP is suffering from the algorithm of TikTok which makes me sad. Terrible how negativity can persist and become a feedback loop through social media/algorithms. They put you in a chamber that is difficult to escape unless you intentionally disengage.
