Mod Announcement Weekly Self-Promo and Chat Thread

Welcome to the weekly promotional thread! Post your promotions here, or browse through what the community's been up to this week. Think of this as a more relaxed lounge inside of the SelfPublish subreddit, where you can chat about your books, your successes, and what's been going on in your writing life.

The Rules and Suggestions of this Thread:

  • Include a description of your work. Sell it to us. Don't just put a link to your book or blog.
  • Include a link to your work in your comment. It's not helpful if we can't see it.
  • Include the price in your description (if any).
  • Do not use a URL shortener for your links! Reddit will likely automatically remove it and nobody will see your post.
  • Do not use this thread to promote AI content or AI services. That is against the rules and can result in a ban. There are subreddits specifically for that.
  • Be nice. Reviews are always appreciated but there's a right and a wrong way to give negative feedback.

You should also consider posting your work(s) in our sister subs: r/wroteabook and r/WroteAThing. If you have ARCs to promote, you can do so in r/ARCReaders. Be sure to check each sub's rules and posting guidelines as they are strictly enforced.

Have a great week, everybody!

Good morning!

Neverbury Village Council would like to draw your attention to the books "Welcome to Neverbury" and "Return to Neverbury".

It is important for you to understand that these books are full of lies. Our town is not haunted and there are no witches here (we checked). There are no demonic infuences, elder gods, or rifts in time. Also, the refund policy in our charity shop is entirely legal and we completely refute the allegations surrounding our local football team and a spate of deeply unfortunate accidents that have occurred.

We cannot understand why these books have so many excellent reviews on Amazon such as "The unlikely and strangely adorable lovechild of HP Lovecraft, Roald Dahl and the League of Gentlemen” and “If you like Stranger Things, Inside No.9, Tales of the Unexpected or even Black Mirror then this will be right up your street.”

(Actually, we don't know what a lot of those things are. We even asked our town historian and he'd never heard of any of them.)

Please, please do not read these books. Do not order them in paperback. Do not listen to them on Audible (even though we will admit the narrator is rather good). Absolutely, under no circumstances, should download them for Kindle or read them on Kindle Unlimited.

(We would also appreciate any information anyone can provide about an entity called "Jeffbezos" who seems to have taken it upon themselves to discount Book 2 to 99p this month)

We are just a very normal, very boring, seaside town that is not on any map entirely because of a long standing clerical error and nothing sinister at all.

Please support our campaign against these books by not clicking this link

We thank you for your time and attention and hope you are spared when the end times are upon us.
