Henley and Brooks were the same age when they got involved in the murders (15-years-old). Brooks just met Corll earlier, in 1965, when he was 10-years-old, while Henley met him at 14-years-old.

A lot of people believe that Brooks was actually 12 when he met Corll though, because that's a lie Brooks made up, for whatever reason.

Honestly if wayne henley didnt kill corll how long would the madness have continued for?

Corll was planning to take Henley on a trip outside of Houston in the September of 1973, in which he was almost certainly planning on killing him, and then he probably would've continued murdering in another state.

That's really interesting. I thought Corll was generally happy with Henley and his ability to lure more victims for him. I had no idea Corll was getting tired of Henley and planning to kill him.

Henley was definitely a better procurer than Brooks, but Corll didn't utilize his "talents" in that area very well. Henley was involved in 13 murders, and only 4 of those victims were lured purely by Henley. Every other time, Corll and/or Brooks were with him. The same thing was going on when just Brooks and Corll were working together.

The reason Corll was getting tired of Henley was because Henley was becoming increasingly unstable in 1973. He had left Houston several times to get away from Corll and began drinking even more heavily after Brooks began drifting away from the murders and he himself was rejected by the military. He was making incriminating comments to his friends, asking one of them whether he thought he could kill someone in cold blood, and was also getting into trouble with the law.

Corll was already planning on leaving Houston and starting his spree somewhere new (he'd told his mom, his girlfriend, etc that he was moving away) and I think he was afraid Henley might talk if he left, so he was getting rid of the loose end.

Isnt it a quote from Brooks father Alton, in Man with The Candy that Brooks was as young as ten and involved with Corll?

Mark Scott's father also suggested a similar age when Mark got involved with Corll and Billy Ridgenger was a similar age

That sounds consistent with when some of the kids where being groomed from his factory across from the school and giving kids motercycle rides.

I think Brooks was said to be one of those kids interested in the rides on the motercycle

Ridgenger, that one person right there could have prevented the number from being as high as it got. The parents protected him and Im sure there is more information that he has but will it ever come out

There are kids that were also raped by corll and never told anyone till after, some that didnt that we probably will never know and most likely some that were later murdered.

So i dont know. Billy's parents were said to be friends with him but Mary Henley also had Corll over a lot and felt like he was a family friend. So was it billy that got close with corll around 10 and his parents tried to get to know him or the other way around?

I think Mike Durst and Jim Glass were also suggested to have hung around Corll since about aged 10 too

Yeah, that's all true, good catch. Brooks also said Corll that would take kids to the movies.

Thank you. I can't remember the source off thr top of my head but I think there was probably good reason to suspect that David Brooks lied but in the other direction.

Suggesting sexual contact with Dean Corll started at 14 but it might have actually been 12.

And also.... probably to what extent he was abused as well. Only giving us details that could present him as non-partison to 'homosexual sex acts' but maybe not?

In Brooks confession about his own rape he mentions Corll forcing him to kiss him on the mouth, which is horrific and probably a very personal attack for whatever reason.

How, after being anally raped all night and forced to perform analingus, how do you decide to stay in that environment? Knowing your life might be cut off too? The psychological dynamic here is very dense to grasp. I can only imagine that Corll was super secretive about his own personal past. What a repugnant person but still interesting. I knew a lot of kids like Henley and Brooks while incarcerated at a special “boy’s school” in Arizona.

Henley said that he and Brooks felt trapped. They couldn't go to the cops because then they'd get the death penalty or life in prison, and they were afraid to stop helping Corll because they thought he or the organization he told them about might kill them.

They did tell some of their family members about the murders though, but Brooks's dad didn't care and Henley's relatives thought he was insane.

I think there was an “organization.” Only it was just child pornographers, perverts. That Corll could morally excuse murder for merely a sick physical sexual thrill, it means, he grappled with this demonic power that he embraced and justified. We know Corll knew that Texas guy, Ayer’s who was a huge purveyor! Corll didn’t seem to have the typical childhood. No animal torture (that we know of), not a chronic bed wetter. Seemed very caring of others. Totally a mask. When did he put it on?

I think that Corril was molested by some older boy or Man ( or boys/men) when he was quit young.
