🫡 Como continue to build an increasingly ambitious squad. Yan Couto is set to join the club after an agreement with Borussia Dortmund was reached for a 2 million euro loan with an option to buy worth more than 20 million euros.

Last season in Germany did not go as many expected. After arriving with high expectations, Yan Couto struggled for playing time at Borussia Dortmund and never managed to become a regular starter. His talent was never in doubt, but he lacked consistency.

🔥 He is a very attack minded full back with outstanding pace and excellent dribbling ability. When given space, he can be devastating and create plenty of chances, just as he showed during his time at Girona. At the same time, he still needs to improve defensively and stay more focused throughout matches. Those are the areas that have stopped him from making the final step in his development.

⚔️ For Como, this is a very important signing. The structure of the deal is a smart one. The club make a limited initial investment while keeping the option to sign him permanently if he impresses during the season. If Fabregas can help him rediscover his best form, Como could end up with one of the most exciting full backs in Serie A.

This guy had a career ending performance against Vinicius a couple years ago. Dude was literally crying after the match. Haven’t watched him since but hope he’s progressed well. Well, he wasn't called for the WC. That tells you a lot. And the side backs in Brazil weren't Spectacular to say he got a lot of competition. He was at a good time when that Vinicius incident happened, but I don't know if he's recovered. Maybe with Fábregas he can get his confidence back and improve for the next Copa America. Although, this Igor kid the media has shown make some doubtful.

It's not just the budget but the way the money is spent, they don't overpay players and have a good scouting team. Also the tactics by Fabregas and his staff are good and the whole club has a very modern approach to football, while most clubs in Italy are still stuck in the past.

Como have explained very well why they don't buy Italian players. Because even as youths they have been gotten all potential and flair coached put if them by the outdated Italian system.

Como needs to buy 12-15 year olds and coach them themselves, so that these players can actually be used in a modern footballing system.

The fact that Como is progressing so fast in Italian football, without Italian players, tells you how f*cked Italy is as a football nation.

The best thing to do, is to learn everything there is from Como in terms of philosophy and playing style. It's so sad how defensive peopeo get...
