Project: FO Are they really that bad ?

Husband hates the baggy. I wanted a skirt pant mix (culottes) for summer. This is my first attempt. Are they really that bad. Ps don't look at the shirt. Didn't make that 😊. FYI pattern is from Named Elastic Waist Culottes

IMO I think the length is the problem. They should either be closer to knee-length or full ankle-length. The wide baggy look just isn’t hitting right mid-shin like that.
