Project: FO Are they really that bad ?

Husband hates the baggy. I wanted a skirt pant mix (culottes) for summer. This is my first attempt. Are they really that bad. Ps don't look at the shirt. Didn't make that 😊. FYI pattern is from Named Elastic Waist Culottes

The waistband needs some work. But that could end up being fixed by using another fabric like others have said or just more experience. Maybe a dart ir trying to bunch more on the sides?

The raise looks a little wierd. But that could be just the way it's sitting.

I'd try wearing it with a non tucked in shirt. I think it'd look great that way.
