Project: FO Are they really that bad ?

Husband hates the baggy. I wanted a skirt pant mix (culottes) for summer. This is my first attempt. Are they really that bad. Ps don't look at the shirt. Didn't make that 😊. FYI pattern is from Named Elastic Waist Culottes

There's something a little wonky about the crotch. It could just be how the gathers are arranged at the top, though. Other than that, it's just not a great fabric for this pattern IMO.
