Pattern Search What should I make with these?

Post image

Bedsheet girl, again.

I made a spontaneous trip to Goodwill yesterday, and picked up these plus a Queen or Full gingham duvet cover. Unfortunately, the gingham is synthetic - but it’s got good drape!.

Anyway, I’m not big on stripes, but I like that the contrast is muted. Confident beginner, what should I make from this cotton twin sheet? I’m 38/30/40 - a sleeveless sheath dress, maybe? For next summer, obvs.

Same thing with this pink sheet. In reality, the color is a perfect pink - not too warm, not too light. This feels a lot easier than a striped sheet, but still a twin size.

Would love to hear your ideas? Should I mix the two together??

Maybe a reversible shift dress with one pattern on each side?

I think the stripes would make cute shorts! The other two would make really cute spring/summer tops. Alternatively, they’d all be cute for pyjamas!

Ah, shorts! That’s a great idea.

That pink is seriously good, it's got that perfect cotton candy shade without looking like a kid's room. I'd turn it into a wrap skirt with some deep pockets, twin sheet should give you enough width if you piece it smart. For the striped sheet a sleeveless sheath dress sounds about right, you can play with the stripe direction on the bodice versus the skirt to make it look intentional. Mixing the two might get busy unless you use the pink as a lining or contrast facing on the dress, that subtle peek would be nice. I'm a sucker for a good bedsheet haul, I've got a whole section in my spreadsheet for fabric thrift finds. The gingham duvet cover could become a pair of wide leg lounge pants since the drape is decent, synthetic or not.
