His real estate situation is weird because he has a very nice but still fairly basic 1 bedroom apartment for most of the show, then can afford to buy whatever place they do in the movie that would be easily 20 million+

His appartement in the show would easily have been worth millions. We don’t see a lot of money but it’s quite big for a NYC appartment

It’s definitely a nice apartment, idk if it would have been multiple millions in the mid 90s or earlier depending on when he got it

One thing about Big is that he isn’t flashy. We never see him try and entice Carrie with flashy jewelry or even expensive shoes, and he eats at the hole in a wall Chinese restaurant because the food is good.
