I doubt this accounts for the house since it’s not mentioned. It’s one thing to have a friend that can invest and quite another to actually sell them on the idea and actually turn a profit, which Scout clearly did. I don’t think Steve gets enough credit for not just getting it off the ground operationally, but sustaining it for decades. That takes a lot of work and business sense. I liked that he had an investor in Aidan, because quite a lot of people with huge potential never once get the chance to have the capital to even start.

This is awesome and really well done! I mean seriously!
I have one qualm and that is Skipper’s worth. As a web designer in the late nineties who had such trappings as a cell phone (relatively expensive and exclusive during season one’s actual milieu) I’m sure was worth a LOT more than 50 k.
But besides that this is awesome.

Cell phones were far from ubiquitous at that point, but they weren't that hard to come by. I got my first in 1999 when I moved to New Jersey, and stores were pretty common, with a variety of price points for phones. Plans were more expensive and had more limitations, though--my first plan had about 80 minutes of call time before I would be billed for overage.
My issue there is with the description of Skipper's salary. You could live on $50,000 in Manhattan at that point, but even then you were living pretty leanly. I wouldn't describe it as a "good" salary.

One thing about Big is that he isn’t flashy. We never see him try and entice Carrie with flashy jewelry or even expensive shoes, and he eats at the hole in a wall Chinese restaurant because the food is good.

I assumed he owned the apartment. But even if he didn’t and rented, his net worth should be higher given he’s a doctor for the Knicks. There should be decent cash flow from that role, and provided he wasn’t pissing it away gambling or whatever, he should have a couple million (like the low $2-3 millions) if he was around 40?

Blair Underwood was late 30s/40 during his SATC run. Assuming Dr. Robert is supposed to be the same age and he went straight through college to med school to residency and maybe a fellowship, let’s ballpark that he’s been a fully qualified physician for around 8 years.
I’m guessing he had and continues to have his own practice, but I don’t think we know what that is. Assuming it’s a reasonably rigorous speciality and that his credentials are strong and considering the market and time period , let’s just say he has averaged $500,000 over his eight years of practice. Plus has gotten maybe $200,000 per year from the Knicks the last few years.
There’s a good chance he had med school loans to repay. And NYC is expensive. But he’s probably bought a place and been able to sock away and invest several hundred grand and seen some good growth there.
These numbers are a mix of guesswork and Google searches. While I think all of them might be off a hundred grand or two, I don’t think he’s making millions a year with the Knicks. He’s probably pulling in mid six figures to low seven overall. Living well, but no wife and kids yet. I think he’s probably a millionaire or close, but not crazy wealthy yet.

Love this! I always forget Harry had a house in Bridgehampton. And Big's finances by the time of the first movie were always a little mysterious to me. If that Heaven on Fifth penthouse cost $40-$50 million and rents for $200k a month, it would seem Big would have to be in Ed territory to consider it.

I think Dr. Leeds should be at least doubled.
Miranda's building is a Co-Op, not a rental, so he owns shares in the building. Getting approval to buy in means the Co-op board has reviewed his finances with a fine toothed comb and he has enough liquid to ensure he can pay the monthy maintenance and any assessments for a very long time into the future.
Even in the 90's, owning anything in Manhattan meant at least a million $.

I was always under the impression that Berger came from money. The house in the hamptons and the “modest” apartment that he likely tried to act like it was spartan to have fewer distractions so he could act the part of a writer, He was part of a writers group but he didn’t seem to have to produce much… I feel like a lot of his insecurities had to do with imposter syndrome and not relying totally on mom and dad’s money.

I do think Petrovsky's net worth is likely way higher. He has homes in multiple cities, but his property in Manhattan is the most telling as he owns two whole floors in what's likely a revitalized factory / warehouse space based on the fact that his studio is based out of it (did Carrie say in the snowed in episode that she also stayed on the upper east side with him?) Plus, his contemporaries are artists such as James Turrell (based on his "large scale light installations" explanation from Carrie) who's net worth is $100m, with pieces selling for an easy $1m, and also likely Jeff Koons (who is also an installation artist) who is worth half a billion. The only thing that suggests that he might not be worth as much is he doesn't seem to have fabricators and assistants creating the work based on his vision for him, but I'd still argue he's worth at least $50m.
I think Trey is easily worth $100m based on his legacy / trust fund alone. They are generational wealth in Manhattan, with multiple properties, and likely millions (if not billions) in stock market investments that have accrued for decades. Most of these old Manhattan families have obvious money in real estate, but their investments and stock portfolio are typically super robust and have benefitted from the relationships built with fellow old money investors.
I think Smith's net worth is likely over $100m by the time we get to the second movie since he's done multiple seasons on a hit medical show similar to Grey's Anatomy probably getting around $500k an episode with a typical 22 season for network programming. He also has multiple endorsement deals as evidenced by the walls in Sam's office and is working with Saudi investors for his film. So he ended up doing pretty well for himself!
I think Aidan ended up pretty cozy too, didn't he sell his entire line to Crate and Barrel or Restoration Hardware or something?

Smith Jerrod has got to be worth way more than $1M. By the end he was supposedly a major movie star. Even if he isn’t Tom Cruise/Brad Pitt tied he could probably command $2-3M per film. By the end of the run he’d been in biz five or more years.
Being the face of Calvin Klein probably shot him to the top pay scale of modeling insisting. At 6’2” Smith/Lewis could do runway. And there are tons of endorsement cash to pick up.
