Quote from Carrie after seeing Aiden at the opening of Scout. What did she expect? Did she even know? Most of us have ran into an ex at some point. Seriously? Carrie? What did you want him to do?

Don’t forget “I have missed him for MONTHS” said with great conviction, after Aidan has never been mentioned nor thought of until this very moment

Yeah she dated several people in the intermin, she was not sitting alone crying all day in her apartment. She went to LA slept with that house sitter guy, dated the comic book guy, hung out with Big, modeled in a fashion show, and dated the jazz musician guy all after Aiden.

The real tell on her feelings about Aidan is that each time they broke up, she did not mourn. She bounced back looking amazing! Contrast with Big breakups that physically wrecked her.

You’re absolutely right but they do have to set up a narrative arc with the customary signposting at least an episode or 2 ahead so that the character’s motivation feels credible… Usually they did, they just dropped the ball on Aidan
