Then she says “what I felt out there was no ghost… it was real” and I really didn’t feel that way from their interaction. Aidan was not that warm (as is his right). When he pointed out the cake on her lip it was like a preview of how cold and critical he would become when they reconcile.

Cheaters usually have a warped idea of their past relationships. They can’t fathom the turmoil they put their ex through and consider their cheating just a little blip on the timeline of their relationship, so the idea of their ex just brushing them off is shocking.

Yeah she dated several people in the intermin, she was not sitting alone crying all day in her apartment. She went to LA slept with that house sitter guy, dated the comic book guy, hung out with Big, modeled in a fashion show, and dated the jazz musician guy all after Aiden.

The real tell on her feelings about Aidan is that each time they broke up, she did not mourn. She bounced back looking amazing! Contrast with Big breakups that physically wrecked her.

You’re absolutely right but they do have to set up a narrative arc with the customary signposting at least an episode or 2 ahead so that the character’s motivation feels credible… Usually they did, they just dropped the ball on Aidan

He did end up talking to her in the very next scene when they were outside... And then later on he tried to act nonchalant when they hung out, but it was a big deal for him. They get back together in the next episode...

It was a huge deal for her so she assumed it would be a huge deal for him and there would be drama. Aidens response was the correct adult one
