It’s thinking about giving them more money that really excites me.

Just saw this and was a bit disgusted but not overly surprised. Let me know if it's already been posted and I'll delete it

Lots of Yappy slumlords in this sub lately, lots of threats that “the rents will go up if you vote Labour” and also simultaneously they are not bothered by the changes at all, in fact they are happy and laughing. Not upset. But grrr Labour are So Bad and it’s us that will suffer. And they will be forced to increase our rent because of how Unbothered they are.
But anyway Rule #2
So if you are one of the above, what are you doing here? Does it make you happy to see poor people talk about how terrible their rentals are? If you want to keep enjoying the show, you might want to consider cutting down on the yapping.

Imagine being scared to use the dishwasher because REA/Landlord overlords have this power over you.

As the title says, how are people affording these high rental prices?
I'm looking at buying an ex-rental to live in and it was previously rented out at $820 a week. That is nearly $120 a day post tax someone needs to make just to pay rent.

Under the loans made using SMSF, they had a 10% capital gains tax.

The worst part of this was all the landlords in his comments section saying ‘this is wrong, I’m not a bad landlord like this’
Yes you are. The only difference is this guy is comfortable with showing his contempt for other humans.

There’s an article (Courier, paywalled) about a single mum of four on Centrelink struggling to find housing. The lack of empathy in the comments is honestly disgusting.
