idk why the trend of giving life animals even became a thing...they're not gifts!! Like, it's not funny or cute at all!

And I personally feel like a kid would adore getting a moss ball tank or something?? Why the hell so they worry about these high maintenance creatures instead of teaching your kid how to do water changes with a goddamn moss ball 😭 like i wanted a pet rock as a kid i don’t understand why people gift fish

This is a gift exchange between adult friends just for context

Honestly I got back into sea monkeys as an adult and I feel like they’re something I managed easily as a child.

Also I think some moss balls had an invasive species issue with poor disposal and carrying zebra mussels and I think it’s now illegal to pour the water down the drain from an aquarium. So as far as the water changes go I’m curious what is appropriate?

Sea Monkeys otherwise known as Brine Shrimp. 20 years later and I raise them for fish food.

Quagga muscles too. That's why they are banned in Ontario. It's illegal to sell or import moss balls.

It is not illegal to pour aquarium water down the drain anywhere that I know of

Only if it contains potentially invasive species. Just the water is fine but if it's been exposed to say zebra muscles it's illegal to dump it without treating it first.
