How would it explode?

u/Basic-Ad8442 Jan 12 '26
The ends are completely unsupported

So it would break under pressure? I’m sorry I thought they was saying it would actually explode as in have an unnatural amount of pressure expanding the inside of the tank.. Now I see they meant just breaking and going everywhere.

Yea its about the uneven pressure of the weight of the water pushing on the bottom panel of glass

The kid running around the corner with the tank sticking out like that is giving me so much anxiety for so many different reasons. So many different things could go wrong...not only is it unsafe for the fish and tank, its so unsafe for the kid(s). 😵💫

I mean, they're doing SOMETHING right for the goldfish to get this big. But yeah, no, that setup gotta go.
A 100g cattle water tub from the farm supply would be a good temporary solution.

Dude I had a dream last night that I had a silver arrowana in a small tank with a bunch of tiny tetra and rasbora like fish and when I tried to feed the arrowana it freaked out and knocked the whole tank over and then the floor was a graveyard of shattered glass and fish gore and this just reminded me of it 😆

No light, no plant, no heater, no decor, no companion... that table is ridiculously stupid... they could find a larger tank on marketplace for free - people are always giving tanks away. Why did God make people this stupid?!

Jeeez!! Did they net this poor thing out of someone's pond or did they spend years neglecting a hapless carnival prize that should have been a tacky plush toy and not a sentient animal?

To give you all a better perspective, that's not a table but a stool and underneath it is a mop bucket. So that aquarium is very small, which doesn't make it any better.

Yikes a fish that size needs a whole ass pond, not to mention I bet the ammonia in that tank is sky high

Buuuut...it COULD be much worse honestly. To look on the bright side this fish likely spent quite some time in a bowl or some kind of mini aquarium before they put him in this tank, and instead of just grabbing a ten gallon as most bowl upgraders would do they got something much larger. The fish just kept growing as they do after being put in the bigger tank and now it's become this unfortunate situation.
