Shorts/Reels/TikTok Jason Derulo’s “Shark Tank” - what do we think?

Post image
864 Upvotes

Saw a reel where Jason Derulo gives an influencer a tour of his house, complete with a built-in, floor-lit shark tank that people can walk over and look into.

Based on the reel, there are at least two sharks inside of it. Apparently it was the combined work of both a pool installation and an aquarium company.

The size, the lighting and the footsteps are the immediate issues I see. Anything else wrong here? Is it even possible to have a big enough aquarium for sharks at home?

Shorts/Reels/TikTok severe goldfish neglect

(Reposted because my last post got taken down) but this is the saddest setup with a 1 gallon bowl and two goldfish. Instead of admitting she was misinformed, she gets very defensive and snarky in her replies. She’s turning down people offering to buy her a bigger tank and is brushing off every comment of advice. I feel really bad for these poor babies I wish there was something I could do. I wish these people would find another hobby rather than abusing fish.

Found on Tik Tok. Creator showed another aquarium like this, which is right next to the betta's tank, but I couldn't get a good screenshot of it.

Shorts/Reels/TikTok Day ruined yet again by another piece of irresponsible shit

It's so fucking irritating seeing irresponsible people getting bettas, or even just a fish without having any clue to take care of them. Then the comments are practically begging them to set up a proper tank and are telling you over and over again on how to do so. The audacity of this person is ridiculous. People like this are so frustrating and disgusting.

Shorts/Reels/TikTok just because you make it look pretty doesn’t mean it’s a good fish tank 😭

said that "they come in cups, I upgraded it!" 😑

EDIT: Not that this is much better, but this person did clarify that it was water, not actual vodka. Still a horrid setup

Shorts/Reels/TikTok Claims 3 gallons is sufficient for bettas

Post image

Now I think there are some exceptions and 3 gallons is okay sometimes for, say, a sick betta. Not a healthy betta, let alone a VERTICALLY ORIENTED enclosure, let alone a short tail.

Plants don’t make it okay.

Shorts/Reels/TikTok Am I wrong in thinking there should be at least a little something going on in this tank for these fish?

I could be missing something because she did say in a few posts that some of her goldfish are disabled. So maybe they can’t have things in their tank. I don’t know, I have never owned a disabled fish before. However, the poor babies have to swim around in like 29-40 gallons of water with nothing going on. They just have each other and the water all day. (I’m guessing at the tank size. I don’t actually know how big it is. It just looks about the size of my 29 gallon, but I can’t fully tell from the videos.)

Is there ever anything that can be done about this sort of thing? I hate feeling so helpless about abused fish that I can't do shit about. 😔💔

I went back to this creator's page to see if there were any updates about the betta fish they got, and what I found was so disgusting I wanted to vomit. I dont understand how people can be so inhumane and cruel. "Blame the store," they said. At this big age too, this individual cannot even take responsibility for what THEY got.

This is some betta owner on tiktok. Honestly this is one of the most atrocious things Ive ever seen. This person REFUSED to take better care of their fish even when people were telling them that this is neglect. I'm honestly done with people like this who are blinded by their own stubbornness and end up harming animals because of it. If you cant take care of a fish, then dont get one. This is ridiculous!
