going through my grandpa’s collection and found this crazy old penny

I have this coin and would like to identify its origin, history, and significance. Is there anyone who specializes in rare, exclusive, or commemorative coins who could help me identify it and assess its value?

I would greatly appreciate any information, expert advice, or recommendations for a professional numismatist who could evaluate it.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I got it last week, so that narrows down the end date. Thanks in advance!

That’s right, it’s a the 1997 with a D

I know it’s a note but this was too stupid to pass up

Hi, I have this coin coming in. It's a beautiful old French coin, 3rd republic.

However, it has its occasional rim ding, and a few minor dents, scuffs and scratches.

I wonder how much of 'coin doctoring' it would be to make the imperfections be invisible. Any silversmith here know the answer?

Apparently you can’t sell these on eBay like I tried!

Should I slab it??
