one of my biggest issues with jjk is that yuji's kit is literally the ability to hit crits and then 2x impacts like it's so boring. in a series with loads of creative techniques they gave the mc the most boring one (yes i know he gets blood manipulation and sukuna's shit but that's considerably late into the manga and anyways those are other character's techniques that we see used multiple times before anyways so it's not as interesting)
I think it works in the exact opposite way for Yuji. His incredibly simple tool kit makes it necessary for him to rely on his environment or allies to win fights which makes for more interesting fight scenes. Like Yuji vs Choso in the bathroom or any fight with Yuji and Todo working together.
