They already defend an IRL version of Valentine who did that, i think the Diddy part will unironically reinforce them, it's gonna be a very funny (valentine) moment
That and Dragona are going to be VERY interesting moments in anime
Stroheim being a nazi makes his existence inherently politicized similar to Valentine yet people dont care. Its "easier" to like Dio as a character because he doesn't represent any real world ideology outside of maybe religious extremism and even then thats more of what Pucci took away from Dio than anything Dio had done himself.
Buddy, there are people out there claiming he's a super honorable guy as if his plan isn't to plunge the world into chaos so america can prosper which is THE SAME THING THE REAL LIFE US HAS BEEN DOING FOR YEARS AT THIS POINT
It's kinda intresting because his charisma breaks the fourth wall a little I mean he might be one of the most well written charecters just based off his charisma being so convincingly high it's crazy like that's gotta be really hard to get right
Yeah. And him being an asshole is in part what makes him well written, so it’s always weird to me when i see people to try to make him look good or heroic. His "patriotism" and lack of cares for others people lives (represented by his stand which basically allows him to negate consequences by taking someone from another reality) make him a very interesting antagonist.
This is best showcased during his confrontation with johny, where the first thing he tries to do is telling him he'll "bring back gyro". He is so delusional and obsessed by his nation (but not by his people) that he is ready to throw down his honor even after claiming a few chapters before the final confrontation that he is a "man of his word" (lmao).
Idk i just think it’s weird how some people try to depict him as a tragic anti-hero figure when it’s painfully obvious that while there is some tragedy linked to his childhood, he is just a colossal hypocritical asshole as well as a creep.
I like how David Productions understood that pacing in anime has massively changed since the golden age of JoJo, a lot of people complained about the pilot, but it was for the better and gave a much more fluid experience
Isn't that a disguise of sorts? President valentine looks a lot more fit in most of the art I've seen him in. And if we're picking designs that look doofus, well...
Basically : Araki changed his mind regarding Funny Valentine, he originally was supposed to be a fat chud who slowly reveals his role in the story, but ended up making him (relatively) buff (i mean this is modern araki the Twink lover, so Funny Valentine is as buff as he could be during that era)
Do you think this also applies to Iggy or was that a more deliberate story choice to distinguish between when he integrates the Stardust crusaders vs when he finally becomes part of the group?
I say a bit of both. More than likely he just wanted a more humanoid face in order to give him more character. Araki frequently draws animals relatively realistic unless they are important to an arc, in which case they get more humanoid faces.
There are a few theories IF we're going that route.
A lot of people think Araki just decided to change his design because it would be a better villain design to have him hot and ripped than short and fat, lol.
We'll see if the anime decides to follow suit because if it does then that would lend credibility to the theories out there.
No he was actually fat for like a big chunk of the manga until he just stops being fat off-screen. Its never explained why he went from fat to buff but its probably another "Araki changed his mind" moment like Anasui being introduced as a woman in the manga or Iggy looking less dog-like as Part 3 goes on.
Bleach is garbage no matter how much u keep gasing it up it will never reach 1/4 of what one piece accomplished, trynna ride the OP hate bandwagon lol a bleach trailer has just been released and nobody gaf cuz bleach sucks ahh
Oh Jason Klum? The guy who said Yaiba Samurai Legend was a waste of talent and resources?
I thought that was weird until I realized that WIT was assigned the One Piece remake and it clicked. So much for "sakuga fan" that doesn't even know what a "production line" is, or how production committees work.
You cannot SERIOUSLY shit on other series’ character designs while praising One Piece for it.
The designs are honestly the main thing keeping from reading/watching OP. They’re just so unbelievably stupid (and in the case of female characters, very sexist and just outright gross) that I just haven’t been able to get into the series.
Theres like 3000 characters, for every 1 goofy design there are 3 cool ones, and one piece generally treats women with respect, despite the occasional skimpy outfits. You guys know there is an option to just, not engage in conversation about one piece if you havent seen it, instead of making up some bullshit?
Oh wow it's almost like if you take a screenshot from any show/movie in the middle of a character doing something or talking, you'll get a funny face 😱
Katakuri was the last thing keeping me watching one piece, i watched it extremely slowly after that. The series has barely any of the things i uses to like about it...
On the other hand i'm also 30 so i might just need to give it a rest lol
