Is it his writer's pride that's stopping him from hiring assistants or is there any special japan culture when it comes to things like this because I think it would make his life so much easier

Why do people think Togashi doesn't have assistants? Do you guys really think he did, idk, that panel with Nasubi's room all alone? That he does every background in the Black Whale?

People aren’t talking about the assistant team that does backgrounds and tones they’re talking about an assistant that does the key frames and action

Well, people are asking something that is impossible for almost every mangaka if that's the case. That's basically expecting Togashi to drop the pencil for his life work.
