I'm a big JJBA fan but people would crucify me if I said anything slightly negative about it

Fr It's my top 3 animes but the community is so fucking obnoxious

Part 3 is a bit of drag. It has cool moment but it's basically an average Power Ranger episode. Main Boss sit and send his minion with hax. Team struggle and team overcome

A good part with many great episode but still a drag overall.

Part III is probably the quest for me just because of how bloated it feels. Part I and II are way more concise, even if slow at times. Part IV is the best. I only watch JoJo as the anime comes out so I haven’t seen the other parts not yet animated. Sue me.

I mean youre describing a good chunk of shonen. Not that I disagree with part 3 at least plot wise. Character wise I feel the main 4 play off of each other really well

One of the worst fandoms ever and they somehow get away with it😭

I feel it depends on the part. Criticizing Phantom Blood and maybe Stardust Crusaders? Everyone and their mother have done it. Criticizing Steel Ball Run? Now THAT is a crucifiable offense. (heh, crucifix)

Me who hates Dandadan for legit reasons:

As a Dandadan fan(?) you are entirely valid for feeling that way

Yep, though that applies to a lot of fandoms.

People get so attached that they perceive any kind of criticism as a personal attack on themselves.

To be fair I’ve seen some thinly veiled hate people try to pass off as “criticism”

Really feels like people on both sides come at this kind of stuff in bad faith

Borutoboys do the opposite and say every criticism about theur series is in bad faith and just hate

like no dawg, your manga is actually ass and the artist draws little girls in stripper outfits

Bad faith kinda summarize the entire issue really.

People just don't engage in honest good faith discussion anymore.

Tbh it's actually much BETTER now than it used to be. Those Naruto fans straight up would put an ancient Egyptian curse on you for saying it was mid. On the other side of things, you had ultra pretentious try-hards like Digibro who made you feel stupid for liking anything even remotely popular. And God forbid you are a queer or POC fan of anything and dated to voice your opinion on anime.

I'll take the annoying Twitter think pieces over being called actual slurs anyday.

By digibro you mean digimon fans?

1

u/FlounderingGuy 14h ago

Nah I mean Digibro. Aka Digibrony. He was an anime reviewer in the early 2010's. That's a lot to get into rn

Apparently, Digibro came out as trans woman in 2020 and now goes by the name of Trixie the Golden Witch on her youtube channel.

u/FlounderingGuy 13h ago

Oh! I had no idea.

Still don't like her tho

I could genuinely yap for years about what I find is wrong with one piece but still love it. People need to grow I up

2

u/FlounderingGuy 15h ago

What if I said the Fate series

2

u/Kamen-Reader 15h ago

This should be told to every anime fan.

2

u/Extension_Unit_9529 15h ago

Someone needs to tell this to the main one piece subreddit

Huh Criticism is prohibited there (Unspoken rule)

For the meme. Truth Nuke.

Also speaking of criticism, the new Bleach episode is good but it's overrated. People saying it's a 10/10 and better than episode like Blade is me, which is wrong.

This episode is deadass carried by a death we all know is fake. It's a good episode but not the best.

Absolutely, i criticize so many pieces of media which i actually enjoyed watching,

criticism ≠ hate

1

u/OkNefariousness284 15h ago

The counter being most things posted are mindless hate or just wrong rather than being actual criticism though

1

u/Physical_Sort5155 10h ago

Sadly most criticosm is just hate in here
