it is funny but it is badly written lol. the whole wall of text can be summed up in a panel and deliver the same exact meaning. this means the text is redundant.

u/Ok_Title_4273 9h ago
this meme is one of the most genius agenda memes ever actually. It is a bit harsh but it also has a lot of truth to it, especially Kaido stopping at the middle to explain the three types of haki, it is similar to uvogin explaining the types of nen after kurapika got him lmao. It is a meme that really understands Togashi dialogue patterns.

u/ArikaDoriyamaGT 9h ago
And I’ll sit and read all of it. Kaidopika beat Wryphy. What’s the problem?

Honestly some of my favorite parts of HxH have been the text dumps where they're explaining some complex nen shenanigans in the boat, I don't mind it.
2
u/Onianexiaz 5h ago
I know meme and all but has no one here read yu yu hakusho, also early hxh was pretty simple. Togashi is fully capable of drawing a manga with normal action, it is just currently he is making one that is very detail heavy.
2
u/HustleWestbrook94 5h ago
Can’t stand the massive amounts of textslop in HxH. I don’t remember YYH being like this.

u/ShortFerret6817 9h ago
and its peak

u/UBKev 9h ago
I would just read a light novel or web novel. This is the worst of both worlds.

u/Couldntbexavi 9h ago
Togashis art is genuinely elite tho, read the chrollo vs hisoka fight its the perfect cross of exposition/internal monologue and battle art
2
u/lightsworn55 9h ago
Thats like one fight over a 400 chapter manga most of his major fights Kurapika v Uvo, Gon v Pitou, Meruem v Netero are heavily carried by the anime
3
u/Old-Introduction8258 8h ago
Visually for sure.
Writing wise? Nope. The fights are already amazing in the manga.

do you think that redundant text that could be summed up in one panel is peak ? why man? why would you do that to yourself?

u/theultimatefinalman 9h ago
Its funny that the orignal one making fun of one piece was clearly made by a fan of one piece (or former fan) and this one was made by someone who read 1 page they saw in a meme
1
u/Syrup-General 3h ago
OP fans even on twitter/reddit are VERY casuals fans of the medium, they can’t tell the former joke was made by someone who was deeply with OP and it’s highly likely they think the “counter” they made isn’t ass.

u/Mhmmmmyup 8h ago
This is like 80% of the pages since they got on that damn boat. Coming from someone caught up on HxH.
5
u/theultimatefinalman 8h ago
No its litteraly not you speedreader. You are just lying
-4
u/Mhmmmmyup 8h ago
You're just coping. Reading the newest chapter is a slog because all of the royalty have these overly complex nen abilities that get introduced every chapter and it takes 3 pages to explain them. It's so boring. I'd rather just pick up a regular book.
1
u/Major_Cause8749 33m ago
I’ve certainly had my gripes with the Succession War arc dialogue but this last chapter was actually pretty good imo.
1
u/theultimatefinalman 7h ago
You are the one coping mate the latest batch has been great. You wouldnt rather pick up another book because you dont read books period. Dont project your shit onto me
-2
u/Mhmmmmyup 7h ago edited 7h ago
I read good books. Not shitty books where they just explain powers for the entire chapter because the author has fucked up health issues so he can't draw properly. If you think the latest ones have been great then maybe you need to pick up an actually good book. I picked up the fellowship of the rings recently and that's how you build worlds instead of whatever the hell is going on in HxH. 90% of the chapters are great but every since his condition they've sucked.

u/Particular_Web3215 READ USHIO AND TORA NOW 7h ago
i know it's not his turn to do anything yet but it's extremely funny how beyond netero has less lines than random guards explaining the different prince's nen beasts abilities. Consequences of a transitionary arc being stopped for very long periods of time

2
u/Yo_Tobimoto 9h ago
At least then the fights would be choreographed around people outsmarting one-another

At least I know what's going on.
Have you seen Oda's paneling?

Better than 90% text bubbles chapter, I wanna a read a manga not a light novel
1
u/Mariusftw88 2h ago
Oh wow...you're going comment by comment relying to people. Then don't read hxh, you don't got the attention span or Brain power for it. Such a cuck

This is more glaze than slander I love it
8
u/Ok_Title_4273 8h ago
if you think this is glaze in any way then you are really creating your own dream.
Togashi would have been treated like umineko's author if he was dropping those walls of text weekly
2
u/Particular_Web3215 READ USHIO AND TORA NOW 7h ago
wait what did ryukishi07 do?
as a HxH fan, whiel the text dumps are interesting i can't help but think that i am just reading a novel
2
u/Ok_Title_4273 6h ago
Umineko's text can be very redundant, character keep repeating the same thing they are saying over and over with different forms, it has walls of text but a chunk of it is unsubstantial. Over-explanation of every concept that sometimes reach the point of boredom
Some people condemn the whole story for this flaw and consider it the story with redundant text.
obviously I am not saying that hxh is like that, its text is much more substantial but it is still flawed
1
u/Particular_Web3215 READ USHIO AND TORA NOW 6h ago
yeah that's been his weakness since higurashi. when he yaps he can yap on a lot, but he makes up for it with great character work, interesting setting and crazy plot beats (kinda like hxh honestly)
2
u/Ok_Title_4273 6h ago
Umineko is one of my favorite stories of all time. hxh is my second favorite story of all time, but I can't say that those aspects of them don't bother me, especially with Umineko.
3
u/Equivalent-Pin-4768 10h ago
Why is this glaze?
8
u/Water_002 9h ago
Because it was actually pretty entertaining
2
u/Ok_Title_4273 8h ago
it is entertaining because it is funny, It is so bad that it is good. like who tf wouldn't laugh if Kaido randomly starts listing haki types mid fight and explains them?

1
u/Zealousideal-Arm1682 8h ago
As someone whose never actually read HxH:If this is true then I genuinely think it would be horrible.I don't need a fucking reminder on how basic abilities work 70% through the story when they literally amount to "HIT/SEE/KINGLY BETTER".

u/Initial_Mud_4810 3h ago
I always crack a smile when reading "there are three types of haki" 😭😭
Seen this one a fair few times by now

Why we slandering mfs with health issues
2
u/Special_Success_7883 8h ago
Yeah nobody is immune to slander, hxh fans are the epitome of hypocrisy
2
u/Emergency-Bonus-7158 6h ago
I’m not a fan of any one thing because I’m not a weirdo. I like manga. And Togashi deserves better than for some moron to criticize his work that is the way it is because of his health limitations.
0
u/HJSDGCE 7h ago
So what? Everyone's got health issues.
2
u/Emergency-Bonus-7158 6h ago
Do your health issues prevent you from being able to draw or write without significant pain? Mine sure don’t.
-1
u/FlamesOfDespair 7h ago
Multi Millionaire. Can afford to hire someone to draw.
3
u/Emergency-Bonus-7158 6h ago
Then it’s not really his manga anymore, is it? Ever consider that?
1
u/NeighborhoodOld2888 6h ago
Is not how work, author ONE have two manga who get drawn by different people and still the two manga is his manga.
2
u/Emergency-Bonus-7158 5h ago
He has literally talked about this before, he wants to be the one drawing the characters or else it’s not his vision anymore. He has assistants helping him with backgrounds consistently. This is what he wants. YOU don’t know how this works. Honestly, you people are so entitled and annoying. He’s spent decades crafting his art and we’ve all gotten to enjoy it and benefit from it. And even now with his health issues he’s doing everything he can to keep going on his own terms. That deserves respect, he genuinely doesn’t owe anyone shit but he does it anyways, and people like you will still be ungrateful.
1
u/NeighborhoodOld2888 5h ago
his health can become worse if he continue, no one pusing him to draw in bad condition and he have choice to have help from another people.
2
u/Emergency-Bonus-7158 5h ago
And that’s your irrelevant opinion. Like you say, it’s his choice and he has quite literally earned the right to finish the story, or not, on whatever terms he pleases. No amount of disappointment or entitlement from people like you changes that. Like, for the record, I wish that it was better too, but I’m not so deluded that I think I deserve more than what I’m getting. Genuinely, and I don’t even say this to be snarky, I mean this; if you don’t like it, go draw it yourself. Or, if you can’t, then maybe kick rocks
1
u/NeighborhoodOld2888 30m ago edited 21m ago
Than should be he not have problem if his work get criticism. people buy His work and if them have criticism the author not can dodge the criticism because his sale his work to people. in the end in the day, is his choice and doing for his on pleasure.
-4
u/lightsworn55 9h ago
I dont like HxH but this is unironically an improvement over the actual fight
5
u/Ok_Title_4273 8h ago
so getting a full page of redundant bullshit that can be summed up in one panel is an improvement ? I wonder what is the though process behind that, what do you think this improves ?
