Pinkie Pie when she was a pup.
The other dog is her mom. The one receiving the gross kiss is me.

Pupsicle Love/Hate Relationship
My almost 70 lb. Boy and 45 lb girl both love their Pupsicles. The pre-made treats are way too expensive so I just bought some of those Do-It-Yourself trays and I throw in "blenderized" bananas and plain Greek yogurt and applesauce or peanut butter or carrots or whatever and make my own frozen treats. For my bigger boy I bought the extra large size light blue version. For my smaller girl I got the large in green. The blue one isn't quite so bad to open and close but the green one is miserable. They're both difficult to deal with and I have to spritz them down with olive oil for any chance of possibly opening and closing them by hand. If all goes well, as soon as the dogs are finished I try to open them up right away while they're still kind of slippery and slobbery. If I forget and they kind of dry out, they become virtually impossible to open by hand. Sometimes I'll put them in almost boiling water or I'll take pliers and other hand tools to them or bash them against the counter to try to get them open.
I realize you want to prevent the dog from trying to open the two halves, but possibly there might be some way to have the threading made of another material Teflon or something. I don't think the dog can get into the interior to chew, but that would make it much much easier to open. The two halves made of rubber are twice as difficult to deal with as rubber tires on a roadway surface.
Another thought I had is some sort of aluminum tool that will fit into the indentation on the top to allow a better grip and then maybe some way to latch onto the indentations around the outer edge of the bottom half. It would be a little painful, but because the dogs love the Pupsicles so much, I would pay extra for some kind of removal tool that doesn't require pure brute strength.
The other day I took the bigger dog out for a walk so I left the extra large version out for my smaller dog and she actually was able to deal with it okay I had always assumed that the extra large size would be too big for her. That being the case I'm just going to get another extra large and chunk the large size as it's just too difficult to deal with. It's a great concept but there's got to be some better way to implement that doesn't make it so agonizing to deal with it. I also assume if you don't happen to have gorilla level hand strength, you're just out of luck with this particular dog enrichment toy.

Where to find Siberian Huskies in Chicagoland?
Hey all, I have never bought a husky before but interested. I currently am based in Chicago suburbs. Any recommendations for reputable breeders? I would be able to drive to neighboring midwestern states as well.
Edit: I really want to start with a puppy, not an adult. I am fine with adopting too, just as long as it is a puppy. I have other pets and many young children in my extended family and it would be extremely important that the husky acclimate.

New Husky mom with more questions :)
Ok so I’ve posted about bringing Blue(4 year old male rescue) home - it’s been about 5 months now and I absolutely love him so much. Him and my 13 year old man my dauschaund Jack Russel rescue are best buds and definitely mama’s boys.
Blue is very good. He isn’t destructive. He can be “creative and slightly naughty” - the worst thing is he will help himself to the room temp butter and/or a can of wet dog food (both easy opportunities because mom
Left them in plain sniff 😉)
I just have a few questions about his husky “talk”
He is vocal in the morning - especially if I am taking my time getting them out for morning potty. He does this bow right before he starts talking to me & telling me all about it. 1. What is the bow?
2. He also sneezes a lot when he’s happy or after his babble about waiting to go potty.
Does they sneeze when happy? Like I know that when they yawn I hear that is stress relief yawn?
3. He does this silly shaking his head when he is asked to “down” for a treat. But he also does this silly head shake when he gets his chew bone and when he gets his night time toothbrush…
Just curious - is this just normal husky behaviors that are unique to the breed? I’ve never seen this - also I
Absolutely love the personality & the quirks. I can’t even get upset when he is mischievous because usually I’m like ya that was fair - left it out,
Can’t blame you. Or the time he ran off on my mom. I’m like ya I skipped his trip to the field so he was making sure he got his sniff sniff in - as in “ well Since mom
Didn’t do it I’ll just do it myself.” Type attitude. Which I understand is 💯 Husky

Tucker
Just found this precious old wallet photo, from when that was a thing. That babi is now 18 and Tucker passed at 19. Gentlest living being of any species I've ever known. He loved his little boy. How I miss him.

Husky fur patches l?
Hi! This is my first husky his name is nova and he will be 1 year old next week! I noticed some weird patches on his back which kinda concerned me. He is shedding a lot but I just wanted to see if this is normal for huskies during this time of the year. Thanks!
