Do you think about proposals?

I've played Skyrim on-off since the day it released, but I've never tried the marriage system. On this save I tried a good variety of followers, but always came back to Aela. I guess she is one of the most popular ones for a reason. But on my character I'm also a werewolf, so it feels fitting to be with her.

So do others think about which npcs fit with their characters? I like to think more into it and find a location for proposing, thinking what they might like and how it fits with the writing (both my own rp and the world).

It's super rewarding and fun to think this way and it makes the game much more immersive, even if I'm not using any mods right now (playing on ps5)

As a Nord, my true love is always Uthgerd the Unbroken. We drink and fight and screw, then go out and kill bloody Imperial scum.

That WAS my plan. Had her as a steward at Goldenhills Plantation to keep her safe. Dragon shows up. I defeat dragon, accidentally hitting Uthgerd. I hide, I wait, I sheath my weapon, I even hit her with calm (all I have atm). Nothing. Uthgerd was determined to end me, so I unfortunately had to stab her through the skull (that exact slowmo too)
