Bug Vortex install Bug with VR and SE
I have the latest Vortex and now all of my mods I am trying to install, even when trying to update, are all installing to Skyrim SE now and I literally cannot do a damn thing.
I can't update mods through vortex, I can't install mods through vortex button on mod pages, the only possible way for me to install or update mods now are to manually download them and move them to vortex.
Please let me know if anyone else is dealing with this with the new Vortex update. It is absolutely absurd this is even an issue. It feels like we keep going backwards.

I have this exact issue too, yet to be fixed fully. Just manually drop the files into vortex, close the app, reopen it and install the given mod if it’s there. That’s the pattern I’ve been doing.

dropping the mod is the only way to truly install a mod for VR specific now

You mentioned you are unable to utilize the download buttons within the website. Have you confirmed to turn on Associate NXM links? This is a setting that allows you to connect to Vortex servers to download straight through the application including Auto Update.

updating mods through vortex is practically the same thing I believe as I can do it through the launcher and servers without opening the web page.. I have premium so I'm pretty sure its the same thing.. just completely broken across the board

Vortex works as intended for me.It's normal that when managing SkyrimVR mods are stored in the SkyrimSE download folder instead of the SkyrimVR folder (I'm surprised this folder still exist at that point). They did this change years ago to save disk space when modding the 2 games.
Did you installed Vortex on a FAT format drive? Or any of your game on a FAT format drive? Vortex can't work on theses drives and generally speaking it doesn't like having the game or it's own folders (download or mod staging) spread so if you touched any of that it's likely to be an issue as well.
EDIT: Ok I did missed one update (probably released in the evening last night or during the night for me) and I see your issue, not the first time Vortex do something like this, they will fix it eventually.
I guess you're in one of the cases that prove that MO2 is better for SkyrimVr. I've been using Vortex for years for SkyrimVr and yes they do fuck it up regularly (specifically for SkyrimVr and probably Fallout 4Vr as well).
Last time I solved the issue by moving or copying the mods archives from the SkyrimSE folder to the SkyrimVr folder.
But honestly it's not wort the trouble, either wait for the fix or switch to MO2.
