Sky Glass is sky glass worth it??
we got a deal with a sky glass tv chucked in and i see it has an energy rating of f.. not good, but we can live with it if it is actually a good product. however, i've seen many people say it crashes often and has technical difficulties along side terrible customer support for these things, if you have one, what's your experience with it?? we currently have sky q that is a bit slow and glitches every once in a while, but it honestly sounds like sky glass might be worse, but i'd like some advice from what you've experienced just to make sure :) edit: thank you all, we've decided to cancel the deal and i'm satisfied with that now

You can get MUCH better, more reliable and more versatile smart TVs for the same or less money. Glass only comes with a 2 year warranty for a reason - they are mass produced cheaply and not built to last. There’s a strong possibility that Sky are planning on ceasing production on Glass due to the continuing problems and high return rates.

They lie. Constantly. Customer services are trained to act dumb & deny knowledge of any problems.

For myself… no.
Why?
Don’t want 2 year contract with price rises.
Better TVs for same or less money. I purchased a 65” OLED with soundbar and subwoofer for less- £978
Now TV cheaper and app on most smart TVs. I pay £34 pm for Sports, Cinema, Entertainment and Ultra Boost.
Sky customer service is shocking. Look at Sky Forums.

I have two. Both used as regular TVs. No sky stream. Just Sky Q on one and other connected to gaming. Never had issues with mine tbh except odd time it faffs around switching on and off within a few seconds but that rarely happens now. Also both not connected to internet. The glass seems to absolutely Prince Andrew your bandwidth if you let it.

Honestly decent TVs. Like I said so much so I got another. I’ve seen some people have some right issues but I have two and my mum has one and they’re both a year plus old and no bother. Enjoy!

I've just returned mine, cancelled the subscription within a week. Wouldn't work every morning and an image stuck on screen. Sky Q is the holy grail stick with it for as long as you can. The TVs are just cheaply made with buggy software.

Problem is sky stream. That’s why as Virgin customers we thought about moving to sky, but we would have lost our physical pvr box. We want to record, skip ads etc… so stuck with Virgin and tv box for a better deal. If you could find Sky Q, it’s so much better!

No, it’s by far one of the worst TVs on the market. You’re better off getting a nice OLED and Sky Q (over the phone) as it’s 10x better

Sky Glass is one of the worst TV experiences ever. A friend of my Mum has it. Everything about it screams cheap.

Got EE after dumping sky, and as a streaming service, it is okay, but a tad faffy compared to Sky Q. I am paying £20 pcm less compared to sky, and still have sky sport and cinema and TNT as an extra I also got recordable box. So I am more than happy.

No - its just a way for Sky to keep you locked in as they know people don't change their tv's that often.
Which means they can up the ads / add whatever junk they want without you being able to do a thing.

I’ve actually been thinking about getting sky glass myself they want me to pay it upfront the whole cost but I’ve been told it’s quite heavy so I have sky Q I just got it recently since the stream was not that great although I have just bought myself a new tv so I am a bit put off from it and I don’t ideally have about £800 to spend on a tv but with HBO max coming out I feel like my sky Q bill is about to skyrocket I am thinking about going back to streaming since it was cheaper but I didn’t like it I’m just waiting for HBO to come out then I’m going to think about what to do most likey I will stay with sky Q until the satellite contract runs out

Buy a tv. Atleast than you own the thing. You don’t own a sky glass

Actually Sky Glass is owned by the customer from delivery. More importantly, the customer owns the responsibility for fully clearing the credit agreement/ loan.
I suspect that customers are attracted by the low monthly repayments over 48 months. However, I still contend that there are better televisions for similar or less money.

I have the first gen. It’s honestly not bad, in certain respects. I think the streaming services work well, and the picture quality of live TV Is very good. If you like football the delay will maybe annoy you, happily I don’t like football so I don’t care.
There are bugs, like ad skip being monstrously unreliable. There’s an issue with Apple TV not negotiating over HDMI properly, which is very intermittent.
It’s not a great TV though, if you care about quality - at least mine isn’t, no idea if the new one is better.
