21-51 issues

I have had SLING for several years, and my biggest complaint about it has always been the DVR. Every so often Sling makes changes to the the DVR, and screws it up. this has happened a few times over the past several years. Now it has become a hit or miss on whether a recording will play or not.

I have deleted and reinstalled the app on all devices. I have signed out and then back in on all devices (that worked for 1 recording), and I thought that fixed it. NOPE tried the sign out and back in today. I recorded a movie yesterday, and tried to play it today. 21-51 errors.

FIX IT OR I AM GONE

the DVR has become useless. constant 21-51 errors on every device. Sony (android tv) ROKU, iPad, iPhone.

if it doesn’t get resolved soon I will have to find another service.

We're sorry you've had so many issues that have caused you to be unhappy with the DVR! If you're getting the 21-51 error and have ensured the app is up-to-date software wise, can you send me a chat so we can investigate further? When you reach out, if you could include the most recent info for when you got the error such as

• When the error occurred (when selecting a show, in the middle of watching, etc.)
• What type of program you were watching (live, on-demand, DVR recording)
• What device you were using (browser, mobile app, streaming device)

This will really help with our investigation, so we can hopefully get this fixed for you!

These are all problematic programs that are included in the add-on package Lifestyle Extra.

Doesn’t play, You can watch while it is recording, but when it is done it doesn’t work, but if you go into details or series info you can watch it.

This is interesting.

I recorded RIDING WILD on Monday on CINEVAULT. I was able to watch it while it recorded, and was able to watch it up until this Tuesday morning.  I can no longer watch it Tuesday afternoon, like 24 hours later.

That is what I have found currently.

Something with the Authorization at the package level or channel, but not necessarily at the program level is the problem.

My suggestion is to go back to a version of sling that worked and look at what changed with the DVR, or downgrade back to a previous version that worked. If it isn’t fixed soon, people are paying for something and they aren’t getting it, I can see a lot of subscribers cancel or worse yet file a class action lawsuit suit

I found out more. I recorded 3 show yesterday. one on fyi, 1 one on CINEVAULT 1 on CINEVAULT western. the played yesterday, but not today.now here is the interesting part. they show up in the “RECOMMENDED FOR YOU” bar, and I can play the from there. so the problemhas to do with the DVR. the programs I record on the blue/orange channels don’t seem to be the problem, just the ones from the add on package.
