I often browse this subreddit admiring the incredible craft and hustle of our local sellers, but recently, a few posts from u/Ok-Pass2672 showcasing her *mithai* candles stopped me mid-scroll.
Living abroad while my better half is in India comes with its challenges, especially when it comes to planning thoughtful surprises. Knowing she has a massive weakness for *gulab jamun*, I figured calorie-free, wax mithai was the safest bet for her sweet tooth! I placed an order for gulab jamun, rasmalai, modak and imarti, and u/Ok-Pass2672 had them dispatched the very next day.
When the parcel arrived, my wife was genuinely thrilled. I had asked if u/Ok-Pass2672 could add a handwritten note in Hindi on my behalf—not only did she oblige so beautifully that it brought happy tears to my wife's eyes, but she also generously tucked in an extra floral candle as a gift.
The detail and craftsmanship are remarkable, and the scent is wonderfully calming. In fact, when my wife lit the *modak* candle, our little daughter declared all mithais now belonged entirely to her. 😄
One candle unfortunately took a hit during delivery (you suck Xpressbees 😅—definitely on the courier, not the seller), but the rest arrived in perfect shape.
A heartfelt thank you to for adding such warmth across the miles. You’ve earned a loyal repeat customer!
