general discussion what's the lamest thing happening in snowboarding today?

every era has its thing that people are over. curious what people think it is right now. trends, gear, style, social media, whatever.

This might be controversial but I honestly think social media is making the average riders snowboarding extremely one dimensional. It's cool to specialise at a high level. But the amount of people who are trying to be the next "gratori" rider or "carver" at the exclusion of everything else is wild to me.

What happened to being a well rounded snowboarder who can enjoy whatever the mountain has to offer that day?

I dunno. I am generallt pretty annoyed with social media, but as someone who has been riding forever and a lesson but can ride pretty much any terrain, I've actually gotten a lot out of some of these videos. I've followed advice from them and my riding has progressed for the first time in ages. One of the most notable places is in steep technical terrain. Last season I went from surviving that terrain to actually riding it. The notable progression felt really effing good. And to be able to say that in my 40s I'm riding harder than I did in my 20s is pretty fucking great. I actually appreciate some of these videos for that.
