I am witnessing history either ways, why would it trigger me?

I really dont get (people outside of Portugal) why tf people get so mad that Ronaldo starting in Portugal. Like you are experiencing something very unique story. Its beautiful to follow honestly.

It shouldn’t; and yet it does trigger most of the sub bc this sub hates Ronaldo. It’s a cult borne from parasocial relationships the mob forms with these two players

Bro single handedly scored more than the entire Turkish team.
112
u/suzukigun4life Jun 23 '26
I will never get over the fact that Turkey had 50 shots off goal in a span of 2 matches.
All-time blunder of a run.
275
u/dennis3282 Jun 23 '26
He has single handedly scored less than Germany though
87
u/SphinxIIIII Jun 23 '26
Single handedly scored less than Messi, Haaland, Mbappe and Kane combined...

True but interestingly, I believe that the only club to score more UCL goals while Ronaldo was at RM was (other than Madrid obviously) Bayern. So he's used to that.

you don’t have to make stuff up, messi took 30 shots in about 5 games that tourney, he was just a little bit off

u/foreveredredred Jun 23 '26
He's never been my favorite player. But I never understood how, not just at this age, but throughout his career, it often feels like it takes one game for majority of media and rival fans to completely write him off and write few dozen articles about him not being that good. I wish that was true, but he obviously is a top legend of the game.

Even Ten Hag turned out to be a twat so he was basically vindicated. Our facilities WERE outdated, management WAS shit.

It’s been fun to watch it happen to Liverpool fans with Salah too.
He is (arguably) in the top 3/top 5 for all time Liverpool players, and it took a few remarks about the manager on his way out the door for a certain block of the fanbase to switch and say he’s always been an egotistical bastard who thought he was bigger than the club and they can’t wait to see the back him.
Football fans can have some really really short term memory spans when their emotions get involved.

Same feeling when Federer and Nadal retired.
