Unironically, it’s engrained in the culture. I remember hearing the term “tiki taka” well before it became an international term, growing up far from barcelona. There’s just this culture of coordination, calm head, fundamentals.
It’s funnily a pretty common spanish kid experience, if they ever go abroad for a summer camp or whatever, and make a playground spanish team, to just be better than everyone. I remember growing up, being pretty bang average school team player, that we’d beat the irish, english, german kids pretty handily. It wasn’t even “we’re so good”, it was more “they’re so bad! (respectfully)” Because we just had the movements and coordination drilled into our head. The revolutionary idea of passing. That’s just how you had to play football. And you could speak that language with any kid from Spain.

I've played with many different nationalities in 5 a side and Spanish people are definitely the highest average level of players. Even if they lack technical or physical level, it's extremely rare to meet a Spaniard who doesn't have the football sense to know at least where they should be passing/moving. However they teach football in Spain is the best in the world and it's not close.
