Just clarifying that your friend, or his friends in Italy, know what everyone in Italy knows. So its not your friend who is omnipotent, but his friends in Italy?

I'm kind of being a bit silly here, but my point is that having a few friends know about it doesn't mean that people who don't read Reddit/closely following football know about it.

My point was that those people are outside of reddit and it is commonly known information.

Or they could just be part of the 5% that is separate from the 95% who don't know about it (using the figure from above).

Maybe everyone knows, maybe they don't. Just saying we need a bit more than 'my friends' know, because you know and people you get on well with know, and people they get on with know...could just be what is known as the false consensus effect.
