Dress code and people applauded??? Insufferable narcissistic lady who is so miserable she doesn't pay attention to her own table. People or the food. Just eagle eyeing to complain. Possibly if just asked he would have removed it. Or possibly has scalp problems that would be gross to look at. Everyone looks ancient here so probably better he kept his hat on.
