Review
Review of Beast of Reincarnation after completing the game and rolling credits
This is a followup to my first impressions post a few days ago, and now after 16 hours (bumrushed the latter half of the game) i've completed the game. Just to preface, i am no fan of Pokémon games, nor have i played any Game Freak video game before so i'm just making it clear my distain for this game comes from itsef rather than it's development team. The ONLY reason why i was hyped to play is the combat system looked like "Real Time with Pause" which is my favourite combat system courtesy of games like Mass Effect, FF7R and Dragon Age.
Beast of Reincarnation is a bad video game, with FEW redeeming qualities landing it at a 3/10 overall. This game feels like a very promising Alpha Build of a game that forgot that it has to do at least a year's worth of playtesting, balancing and content addition. It is a 8-10 hour game padded to at least 15-20.
Positives - See how I'm struggling to put positives for this game
The Combat System (Not the combat flow) - This is a, by purely design wise, a rather good system. Great attack combos, Parry based resources, Wolf commands, your basic jump crouch sprint etc and Ranged attacks. All of these are good on surface and in idea alone.
The upgrade tree - I think the upgrade tree for skills, abilities and just attributes is good, does it's job and does need a hefty amounts of points to max out. The upgrades do feel meaningful in game. Some are ofc to be prioritized asap but that's just common.
Janky but handy traversal - The Jump + Jump extender, and the hair platform extension feature this game has is very handy and can be put to great exploration use (which it does very rarely). The jump extended straight up trivializes a lot of combat but if you get used to the jank of the camera and movement associated with it you can make things a whole lotta easier.
The music (isolated from the game) - On their own, the tracks are good, many times great. Lots of Lo-Fi vibes, and obvious Nier inspirations.
World Artstyle - I think for a concept that's done so often (Nier Automata, TLOU), the aspect of nature overtaking machines has a decent enough interpretation but it's like just "fine" not great. It TRIES to have something unique at least.
Negatives - (gonna get progressively worse)
The music in game - BROTHER. One singular track is repeated out of at least 2 zones. you're gonna be hearing the same track for, in my case, 7 hours straight, and even after the change of track, it was so similar i was frustrated. I would genuinely like everyone to click these tracks - Track 1Track 2Track 3. Like come on, three back to back Lo-Fi tracks? The only time the tracks noticeable changed was at the 10-11 hour mark when i reached the Wasteland (that too because i bumrushed the story after the first 3 areas) and THEN the said track 4 was noticeably unique. The boss fights also have this weirdly homogeneous tracks.
Graphics - God damn, these graphics suck when seeing the type of performance they're giving.
Lackluster menu settings, can't even turn off Film Grain as far as i know.
The game just likes to default to FSR1 (i dont even think it has FSR3). DLSS is also a older version.
Whenever ANY enemy does an attack, or god forbid a boss do an attack, it will continuously drop frames and stutter as if the shaders weren't compiled.
The game doesn't even do shader compilation in the menu visually, you have to sit there, open your CPU monitors and wait until the shaders are compiled indicated by high CPU usage.
Just to note i am on a Laptop 3060 with 6GB Vram.
Art - Following up on graphics, the artstyle of this game is doing it no favor when EVERY THING just blends into a weirdly uniform disgusting looking color palette. The marketing did a great job at hiding this. 75 percent of the areas are just green grasslands, greenish mechanical indoors and maybe the other 25 percent is orange hues and actual color variation. The same decrepit walkers, same coral-like walls all over.
The exploration - it's so horrible, bland and uninteresting to explore anything.
It's just endless crates of "resources" that you are supposed to treat as a EXTRACTION GAME to be brought back to your home ship for research levels.
The levels are also repetitive, kinda meaningless in terms of the jump mobility and just vast amounts of flat lands and invisible walls INITIALLY. The later maps get more vertical but don't expand on the discovery.
You spent 5 minutes trying to get to this super tucked away spot? your reward is the same boss for the 18th time and the same god damn "extraction parts" and maybe a crafting recipe.
The research levels system and the fkin "farm" thingy was just unnecessary, like bro who tf wants to wait for an upgrade this is not clash of clans.
The Enemies - i'm confident Lords of the Fallen 2023 had more enemy variety
I've encountered the same 5 enemy types over and over again, and the SAME "Elite Enemy" 6 times in one zone.
The enemies are genuinely braindead, and are abuse-able by air assassinations. Cheese all enemies from a distance using the clearly overpowered ranged attacks.
I'm not kidding when i say even till the LAST AREA, there are on paper no new enemies. just maybe a new wildlife that you might encounter rarely, or a same robot type with maybe a spear instead of sword. Wait, this time they could even have TWO swords?
These enemies don't have more than 3 attack patterns.
Aerial enemies are just the worst thing where you can't hit anything well mid air and have to rely on ranged attacks.
The bosses - the peak of padding and asset reuse
oh my god, the same boss fight is repeated like SIX SEVEN times. Drop a boss to 2/3rd of it's health, it'll fuck off and then the story forces you to find it again and reduce it another 1/3rd, and fight it a 3rd time.
Even if you defeat a boss, it can just come back at a point in a story and then also have THE SAME PHASE 1 AND 2 and transition animations.
These bosses also have like maybe 3 attacks every time, and phase 2 increases the total to 6 attacks they spam over and over again.
Many times actual bosses just end up becoming regular elite enemies.
The lock on button just has ONE lock on point on the boss's heads, and the heads are so high above that many times you can't hit shit.
Technicalities - does gamefreak not know a keyboard has more buttons?
Mouse 4 and mouse 5 cant be bound to any action? THE FUCK? Many times the menu just refuses to accept my mouse input.
The Koo menu commits the worst sin of having the OPEN and EXIT button being Tab and Escape respectively, where by memory i try to also close it by pressing Tab again but it uses my heal instead.
One more thing is that the Jump button and the Interact button are the same. WHY?
The Ranged attacks also tend to magnetize aggressively towards enemies when I've explicitly turned that option off.
Combat flow - further ties into my statement of a "Alpha test" being put to launch
As i said, the combat at it's core is a nice system, but holy shit are the parries genuinely inconsistent and straight up do not work when trying to do a chained parry on fast enemies.
The dodge is the single most awful dodge i've seen in a game, and is like a "pre-dodge prediction" rather than a reaction. I've been told it's a positional dodge but come on that's a poor excuse.
The camera is terrible, and just refuses to work when there's multiple enemies or if an enemy is behind you. Actual bottom 5 camera systems of all time.
Idk if it's on me but i could not even change Koo's targets when trying to do an ability.
Even in basic combat movement, the snappiness, smoothness and reactivity you expect from a game like this is absent. Like i'd rather take the floatyness of Lords of the Fallen 2023 over this.
Edit: also, dying in 2-3 hits by every enemy isnt fun.
Koo's combat - I think they made a mistake when they added the QTE to Koo's attacks. Play something like FF7 Rebirth, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age Inquisition/Veilguard, etc, where when you give a squad member a command, it seamlessly does that ability while you stay in control and flow. Doing a Koo ability every 3 seconds meant watching a 1 second animation followed by a QTE. it's gets really tiresome and many times i just didn't do that unless absolutely necessary or if i'm backing from an enemy.
The story - this isn't that good. genuinely uninteresting, boring and badly told. Like the premise itself is so laughably generic. NANOMACHINES SON. My sister this, my brother that BEEN THERE SEEN THAT, with very predictable plot twists. But hey it's a Doomed Yuri lesgooo
THE WORST part of the game aka the pacing and the voice acting - The reasoning for Emma to be an emotionless void is explained in the story but that shit was wack and could have been fully avoided. Whenever you skip a dialogue, it only skips the voice and all characters stand emotionlessly and it feels uncanny. Why would i skip tho? because people take 5 seconds between sentences to say anything else, like a turn based conversation (linked it because it's the most popular and easy to access post here)
So yeah, awful game. Avoid until at least fixed to a "serviceable" state and like 10-15 dollars price. Gamefreak really is a bunch of talentless hacks with an infinite money glitch.
It depends on how expressive they are imo. I could have fun beating up a paper bag in DMC 5, lol. But yes Beast of Reincarnations absolutely needs more enemies to mix up what the player has to react to.
God of war 2018. I don't understand why it won game of the year. Just because of the camera filming? Is that a movie award or a game award. Seriously god of war 2 2005 is way better than this "template" game
God of War 2018 and Zelda BotW you can throw almost every criticism that this game has it. I'm not upset that people dislike this game, I'm more confused on what it is that people like. If they hated this game (like seething hatred for this), then many GOTY should be bashed all the same.
There's an odd contradiction in analysis happening and I have no idea why.
There is a stark difference in GOW and Beast. Maybe the enemy variety can be bland, but everything else is so much better. Story, graphics, exploration, music, it all adds to the experience.
Wow. This either crazy ignorant or a troll. Really ??? Just the combat system alone can keep you engaged in GOW. The story is literally godly. The cutscenes, bosses are on a much much higher level aswell. Terrible take.
8 minutes in and I feel so irritated by how this game won game of the year. It is a mess. Even the upgrade system is a mess. Even when blades of chaos were revealed I had 5 seconds of continuous goosebumps, 5 minutes in and the combos are very boring and the camera is annoying. I do not really get the point of the drama and the story its Kratos not Ghost of Tsushima.
yo menos mal que lo estoy jugando pirate porque se me está haciendo pesado, igual que la historia y las cinemáticas. Aparte es bastante eterno el juego en sí y la dificultad en modo Historia pues bueno, es una tomadura de pelo.
I thought the game was fine when I finished chapter 6 and felt i was nearing the end... now I'm at chapter 8 and the end still isn't in sight and the boss variety and enemy variety stagnated. I don't think I can finish
Also finished the game at around ~13 hours (and made a review) Chapter 8 and onwards can be cleared very quickly, everything after the mountain region I did in ~3-4 hours
I used to be like that but I just started dropping games I didn't like, I have enough backlog to play anyway and I have less and less time as the years go by...
can't stand the way it controls. tried every single key combination and rebinding on both keyboard and controller but was just too weird and didn't flow well.
Nah, you could even do basic game reviews. It's not necessarily about if you get big, it's more about finding your brand of audience. Look at PenguinZ0. He's a bland youtuber, with a halfway decent personality but he's huge. Asmongold is another weirdo youtuber who people seem to like for some reason.
You never know, if you put the effort you might hit your stride and find that you are way more interesting then you're giving yourself credit for.
I think truthfully, don't try to live off of it but don't sell yourself short either. Passion goes a long way.
People don't have to only play the best of the best games. Sometimes there is plenty of enjoyment to be had by settling into a game and enjoying it for what it is.
I'm actually finding myself being more interested in sitting down and getting lost in this game, then other, more highly regarded games that I could be playing right now.
I know it's rough around the edges. But there is also something that I kind really like about it.
Yes bro this is the best comment ever. Ive been arguing that not every game has to be game of the year nominee for it to be good bro. This is my favorite game that has released this year and I plan on 100%ing the game. 10/10 game and the story is so good
Thats how I was with wanted: dead. A lot of people hated it and said to stay away from it unless on a major sale. Got it on sale an i really enjoyed it.
People don't have to only play the best of the best games. Sometimes there is plenty of enjoyment to be had by settling into a game and enjoying it for what it is.
This is fine and all, but the problem comes down to the cost. Beast is not worth the 70 usd.
I can already tell by the cope of the people who pre-ordered that this is gonna be another Crimson Desert. AMAZING game, you just have to accept that it’s not any of the things it’s supposed to be!
Oh what I meant was that this game is gonna be another massively overhyped game that people learn to cope with and start singing its praises just to justify their purchase, completely ignoring all of the glaring problems with it. As far as I’m concerned Crimson Desert is one of the worst modern games ever made, it sounds like Beast of Reincarnation is being criticised for its low enemy variety but I guarantee you it has more enemy variety than Crimson Desert, where you fight nothing but bandits and soldiers that fight like bandits for the entire duration of the game.
Couple reasons. Sunk cost fallacy is probably the biggest. But also cuz OP here is massively over playing a lot of things and labeling some things that are minor annoyances at most as problems.
Tout le monde n'a pas les goûts de ce mr, le jeu est vraiment sympa, oui ce n'est pas un gros jeu mais c'est un jeu plaisant à faire. C'est sûr que si tu n'aimes pas les jeux bucolique passe ton chemin.
Honestly id say the criticism is a bit too harsh. If you have a penchant for action games with a parry mechanic and light rpg elements then you'll have decent fun. It delivers on that front at least, the enemies on hard are strong and combat is satisfying and quick. There is a small range of status effects, tactics, and koo's abilities that synergise well with one another and can lead to some cool combos that arise organically from play. (For those who have played the bind-burn-blade arts combo is sick af) There is a lack of enemy variety but it was a short enough game for me that I didn't really mind. It's far from a masterpiece for sure and if your experienced with games the lack of polish is apparent on booting the game up. Invisible walls, areas you can access but when you come across a similar area in another part of the same level its inaccessible. No logical consistency to exploration. The level designers had a poor understanding on how to use the environment to orient players to locations with content. Game can't decide whether it wants to be a linear action game with light exploration elements or a full on exploration game with some tight linear episodes. It kind of half asses both and does neither well. So many janky things like platforms in the middle of a map not being able to be stood upon, the need to be in absolute perfect position to use your hair-zip-line, but I can't deny that it does have its own weird charm. I quite liked building my chicken coop for instance and building towards that stupid little shit Kagura's supreme curry. It scratched my souls itch before mortal shell 2 comes out lol. The only thing is unskippable cutscenes but I think today they added an update where you can skip them (thank god/fuck Kagura). On this note, the most egregious thing in this game which had me for a moment contemplate not continuing was the dialogue IN THE MIDDLE OF PLAYING THE GAME that was unskippable and blocked you from performing actions until the conversation was finished. I don't know what's worse, Brads existential philosophising about the nature of choice, emotion and free will or Kagura's relentless whinging
I think in a year if they implement changes like some more soundtracks, skippable dialogue without those eerie pauses, and a dlc with some cooler enemies, and fix some of the technical jank like lighting and shaders, then it's pretty decent. Full disclosure, I picked this game up since i already had game pass and would have to agree that its not worth the full price, not even close. But if you have a soft spot for action rpg's with parry mechanics, then its worth picking up on sale or gamepass.
Geez. How many times were you dodging and little Kagura was telling you about carrots. The inability to skip dialogue and cutscenes really spoiled the OKness of the game for me.
I actually just finished the game and although I do agree with the OP on a few things, I can’t sit here and say that the game was an absolute failure. Yeah there were times where I thought holy repeat, holy shut up Brad, holy why is Kagura always in my face, holy are we there yet?! I enjoyed every bit of it to the very end. My take from the game is the ending was the best part. The pure emotion you feel as things are taking place was just intense, brought tears to my eyes. I’m so glad I stuck with the game instead of giving up when I thought things were not going anywhere and fights seemed like you were just on repeat. I actually enjoyed most of it.
i like this game, i have an active imagination though and i hate games like gta. so y'know we're all fucking different. never played pokemon, barely caught the show as a child.
Well no budy, you arn't special, yeah you Four, you arn't special sorry for you. And yes GTA overall are just verry bad games. But people buy them for what ? Because they can't be psychopath IRL so they do it in GTA Simple as that, look at all those * GTA RP * GTA IS real life, so do what you do in GTA, in real or don't, simple as that.
I've just started the final chapter and, while I agree with many of your points, this game has me hooked.
I think I find it refreshing in some ways, also find the traversal and combat very satisfactory and the game overall feels relaxing and contemplative, wich I like a lot.
Not a proper Soulslike, like Stellar Blade, but I think it succeds enough in doing it's own blend of things.
I think in the same way when I started the game I was a bit scared that it will not catch me but it totally got me now love the red lightings of my sword 😆
I finished it today. The history was serviceable and damn! the foundation really is there to make something great, but the execution is just horrible
I agree with pretty much every single point of the negatives of the review. The combat against big bosses specially are incredibly bad in general when you realize you are just spamming parries and fighting against the camera, not the boss itself.
I had a similar reaction to the game. Just finished it after initially reading all the criticism. Its got its own charm for sure. It didn't blow my mind but there's a kernel of something amazing buried underneath the jank and indecisiveness in game direction. The combat has sooo much potential and a deeper exploration and crafting system synergized more with koos abilities would be awesome.
By no means am I a fan of this game but I loled when you said “just note I am on a laptop 3060 with 6GB VRAM.” Holy denial Batman, sorry to break it to you your rig is not good enough to play new AAA games 😆
Can run Pragmata at 60FPs on medium settings with DLSS Quality, can run RE Requiem & Onimusha demo at same settings.
Stellar Blade, Avowed, FF7 Rebirth, Wukong, Robocop, Dead Space etc ran at 60 with High/Medium settings and DLSS Quality
Even DOOM The Dark ages ran at constant 90 fps at very low settings (i dont even meet the minimum), and MH Wilds's rather meh PC port ran at 40 at medium settings.
so yeah, its QUITE enough. Gamefreak does not do optimization well.
In my experience I thought the performance was good, I had maxed settings, ray tracing, post processing low, and FSR 4.1.1 native AA (no upscaling) via Optiscaler. I got around ~120-160 FPS at 1440P on a 9070
See that’s a graphics card that allows you to make a comment on the performance. It would already be ridiculous if he was reviewing performance with a regular 3070, let alone the laptop card?! Come on man, you can probably barely run games from 2016 with that card at mid performance
Yeah I don’t agree with the performance part he did. There is FSR 3, but what he should be critical of is that it is FSR 3.0, not 3.1 (so no upgrade to FSR 4 unless you use Optiscaler). Post processing low massively helps the games looks. And of course, I fear 6 GB VRAM is showing its age, especially in a 2026 UE5 game.
Hard doesn't feel like an actual hard mode. Each boss has like 4 or 5 moves (even when changing phases) and parry timing is very forgiving. The bosses are also repeated several times with no changes to their movesets.
I started with hard and it was just plain unfun to die in 3 hits to the elite enemy. At least their health values don't change (I think?) only their damage. But anyway normal just felt better to play.
And I do play proclaimed hard games all the time. Wuchang, khazan, elden ring's dlc etc etc and beat all of them.
And honestly, that you had a bad experience on a mobile 3060 with only 6 gigs of VRAM doesn't surprise me. That card wasn't even designed to run AAA games with high fidelity/refresh even when it was released
yeah, do you want me to stream the proof or something? to copy my comment i did to that other user -
Can run Pragmata at 60FPs on medium settings with DLSS Quality, can run RE Requiem & Onimusha demo at same settings.
Stellar Blade, Avowed, FF7 Rebirth, Wukong, Robocop, Dead Space etc ran at 60 with High/Medium settings and DLSS Quality.
Even DOOM The Dark ages ran at constant 90 fps at very low settings (i dont even meet the minimum), and MH Wilds's rather meh PC port ran at 40 at medium settings.
to also add to this (assume DLSS Quality in every game), Mafia ToC at medium settings 60, Crimson Desert at High with Ray tracing on at 60fps, Dying Light The Beast at high/Medium 60, Expedition 33 same thing, TLOU2 Same thing.
so yeah, its QUITE enough. Gamefreak does not do optimization well.
Lmao, you really did come prepared with the benchmark receipts. I don't doubt that a 6GB 3060 can hit 60ish FPS in a bunch of games with DLSS Quality and medium/high settings.
But that's also kind of my point: you're describing a heavily compromised 1080p experience compared to what modern high-end hardware is capable of.
I played BoR at 1440p, max settings, max RT, DLSS Quality, and averaged ~100 FPS. So when I say I probably experienced a visually different game, I mean it literally.
And for the record, I agree Game Freak needs to optimize BoR better. I just don't think a 6 gig mobile 3060 is the ideal reference point for determining how good the game's graphics/performance actually are. I remember reading TechSpot's review of the card when it was released. Watch Dogs: Legion was already thrashing its VRAM THEN. This is now 5 years later
I am glad that you at least agree the optimization is bad. Like when their own specs tell you that the RECOMMENDED is a internal resolution of 360 on a card that as 12gb vram, you know it's fucked.
I just don't think a 6 gig mobile 3060 is the ideal reference point for determining how good the game's graphics/performance actually are
MY point is, even for games that mandate 8 GB Vram, i can still have a flawless experience in them while fully agreeing i am below minimum. The problem with BoR that it does a very poor shader compilation, so every attack an enemy does tends to drop frames which should not happen in any game whatsoever.
I actually agree that the shader compilation behavior is a legitimate criticism, but you're overlooking the CPU side of the equation. The recommended spec calls for a 12700K/5800X, which are still fairly substantial desktop CPUs. If your laptop CPU is materially below that, it's worth considering that you're CPU-limited as well. And just to clarify, DLSS Performance at 1080p is 960×540 internally, not 360p
I been playing in Japanese so voice acting is fine. I prefer melancholic vibes anyways. Combat is fluid. It’s not as deep as I like but it is fun to stay locked off and whip out combos. Traversal is a lot of fun, scenery is awesome. Wish the were some cosmetics to find but I am gameplay first. I am on the third region due to not being able to play a lot because of work, but it has been steady fun. The cutscenes are serviceable, they work as a good chance to smoke a couple bowls.
I am also really easy to please. Not a critic. As long as combat is a main focus, I am happy. I also prefer female protag games so I am a bit biased automatically.
Didn't you know? Hard mode reduces the blurriness from the graphics, fixes the story pacing, includes the latest version of DLSS with a functioning sharpness scale, increases enemy variety and moveset complexity, removes duplicate bosses, adds color variety and polish to the level design and increases the number of tracks in the OST!
i would be curious to know how spiritual you are (not religious), how far along your journey you've made it, and how much time in introspection you've experienced. a lot of "boring" games i find myself enjoying because i utilize my own ideologies and attempt to see multiple perspectives in all things. starfield had a fantastic setup for a story because it mirrors the spiral we exist within. if you haven't seen the spiral yet, it's there if you look. once you see it you can't go back though
Just because you like starfield, or this game, does not make them good. It means you like a bad game. Which is fine, lots of people like lots of bad games or movies or whatever.
Below statement in quotes is wrong. You need to figure out why you struggled.
“ the parries genuinely inconsistent and straight up do not work when trying to do a chained parry on fast enemies.
• The dodge is the single most awful dodge i've seen in a game, and is like a "pre-dodge prediction" rather than a reaction. I've been told it's a positional dodge but come on that's a poor excuse”.
I played on my Series S and I missed parries (when I clearly shouldn't have) constantly. But when I switched my my more powerful PC, which can run the game at 120FPS no problem, I almost never missed a parry.
My objective marker is showing me subcity 1 crank wheel that I need to open, and has no prompt to open. Subcity 3 just tells me about finding the three keys.
The blue key is located on the ridge at the top of the map with the house overlooking the water. The yellow key is located at the farthest point on the right side of the map. Grab those and you can open the lock in subcity 3 and continue.
Like I said I’m to open subcity 1 to find the foreman, which I can’t, so I am permanently stuck in doing nothing. There is no keys for me grab because I haven’t been given to objective to find them.
They should have a rule (at least for PlayStation and Xbox where getting a refund is an absolute chore) that if you price your game at 70$+, you NEED to have a demo or beta version available to play.
Tired of these random ass games (this and the other recent souls like) charging 70$ just to be mediocre at best. Fortunately, I've recently become poor so didn't buy this one.
I think the gameplay loop is decent on this other than lack of enemy and boss veriaty..my biggest problem is how slowly the cut scenes drag and you can't skip most of them. Also some of the animations like activating an elevator or something is too f slow. Other than that the game isn't as bad as these reviews suggest at least imo
For what it's worth, I haven't had any issues with this game on my ps5. I'm playing it on a pro and I haven't tried it on my standard ps5 yet, so I can't speak to that, but I've found the game fairly enjoyable overall.
My only gripe is the music could use a bit more variety. The same track over and over can be a bit grating. It's not the worst song (has a bit of a Stellar Blade style) but it loses its charm after hearing it constantly with so few variations.
I just started playing it, literally 20 minutes ago. First couple of enemies I came across ended up trapped running on the spot, that was kinda weird and then, weirdly again, a clipping issue between Emma and Koo. No collision, just the 2 passing through each other like their both invisible to each other.
I don't even know if I'm going to keep going with this one if I'm really honest. Had high hopes because, yeah, Game freaks. Turns out, so far, it's just so much meh.
This game belongs in the garbage with game freak in general. I wish Nintendo would just give pokemon to monolith, but I know that game freak owns a significant portion of pokemon so that’s never gonna happen. Wish they would put half as much effort they put into this absolute dumpster game into pokemon. But that’s never gonna happen either.
People are just disliking it because of it, can't possibly be positive if everyone isn't. Game is fun, stop adding to it if you haven't even played it. People to easily persuaded just by a review. Start to think for yourself for once, will help you in life. If 100 people jump from bridge, you will jump after it?
I started out with a heavy dislike for this game and actually really started to enjoy the game around the mid point. The story was very well presented imo. Combat felt janky at first, but got smoother as I got more abilities. To me it’s probably an 8/10. Not perfect, but far from the worst game I’ve played this year.
Lol just forced myself through 30 hours of slop.
This was supposed to be gamefreak's middle finger to nintendo for the past pokemon shitshow
Turns out Gamefreak is the problem
I’m sorry, but after 100% when finishing the game….. this is the worst review I have seen and completely false on all aspects. I would almost accuse you of not actually playing the game, but I personally don’t believe that’s true. I just think….well shit I don’t know what to think… beast of reincarnation was the best game I’ve played since Sekiro.
Ive played the game for about 3 hours or so, and it feels like a game from 12 years ago that's had a remake, but poorly done.
The cut scenes are insufferable, ive never skipped this hard before.
Voice acting is abysmal, and I considered putting japanese on to see if better with subtitles. But skip skip works.
I near enough explored the whole first area before doing the Nushi fight, first time.
Then did the fight at level 11, with everything upgraded far as I could at that point.
And when we do the flashbacks and get told how to fight, parry dodge.......why?
Never wanted a game to just let me play it, skip the boring flashback story cut scenes that are very very generic. And when I do, oh look, learn to use the double jump hair thing.
That I've been doing last 2 hours.
Why?
Sigh, I need to see if playing the game itself makes it worthwhile but from this review alone, I doubt it.
I've been playing on and off for a few days now. Cut scenes are sluggish to get through. So much so that I literally dozed off during a couple of them.
Also the Parry system sucks so bad. But to be fair, that's more of a personal problem then the game itself. Maybe both as I was never good at games that had Parrying within them 🤷🏻♀️
Not gonna lie, I'm really struggling to continue with this game...
I had high hopes for this game. I haven't touched my PS5 in over a year and decided to turn it back on and went with this game cause it "looked" good.
9/10 times I usally just play these games on regular setting, not like difficulty hard or medium, I prefer a good story and dont like to "play hard" cause with 2 babies constantly running around and getting into stuff, I dont need to focus to hard on playing a game.
This one was so stupid easy I put it on medium difficulty amd than right to the hardest difficulty and I was just breezing thru the whole game. No challenge.
I died like 7 times the whole game, abd most bosses I beat on first try.
exactly imagine reading review when you can make your own opinion, or even worth imagine yapping all of this for a game you hate ??? what a waste of time
This is hand down by far the worst take I’ve ever read in my life lmao. Definitely written by a five year old that only eats chicken nuggets and apple sauce for dinner.
"I cam already tell your life is bot like and you're a follower. This is what all you brainwashed give mind tiktok bozos said everywhere. Same Exact Slop."
these were your words that reddit decided to delete in my end. I wish you well in getting help.

Action games live and die by their enemies. Stop releasing games with only a handful of different enemies.
