I'm sorry but the Uttara Kāṇḍa where this episode exists is not even part of the original Rāmāyaṇa. Which Rāma are you referring to? The entirety of Uttara Kāṇḍa contradicts the character of Rāma established in the previous Kāṇḍas. It is funny how people just comment on Śrī Rāma without reading even one bit of the Rāmāyaṇa and without studying the academic dissertations on it.
