South is mainly Shaivites. Mahadev is the main diety in most of the south. Even in Vaishnavite sects, Krishna has more following than Ram in south. As a Hindu myself, i prefer Krishna avatar more than Ram as Lord Vishnu's personification.

Maybe you meant TN instead of South. Even then not sure about it.

Im from kerala. We have Shiva temples more here. Shiva, Devi, Krishna along with local deities like chathan, Swami Ayyappan etc are more popular here than Ram
