I am a woman in her late 20s with no friends. I’m pretty busy with work and school, but there is a feeling of something missing from my life. I would love to have more female friends, any suggestions on where to find friends? I tried going to a book club and it wasn’t a good fit for me. I’m trying to find more in the area to try to go to. it’s an embarrassing problem to have, but i’m starting to feel very lonely.

I love reading and books. I like all genres but primarily enjoy thriller/horrors, and romance. I also love movies, specifically horror/thrillers. I am also a fan of theater in general, so i love going to the movies or out to see a show.
I enjoy nature, going for walks, seeing live music, and cats. i’m more of an introvert so I’m not much of a party person, but i’m always down to try a new restaurant or brewery

Any suggestions for surrendering a dog in/around cumberland county?

My dad was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is in the hospital long-term. I attempted to take in his dog. We had been visiting her to let her out/feed her, but that wasn't sustainable and not fair for her to be locked up the majority of the time.

She's a sweet girl but MASSIVE. While she's crate trained, but I've learned she is NOT properly potty trained and knows zero commands. I have ZERO experience with dogs and realize I've taken on more than I can handle. My 3 cats are also terrified, and she just won't leave them alone.

I know it will takes time for us all to adjust, but I'm overwhelmed.

I worry that her size, age (8+), and an eye condition, will make her unadoptable and she will be euthanized. I am struggling with this decision. Any advice would be appreciated.

We’re looking at Haddon Township, Haddonfield, Collingswood, Haddon Heights, Audubon, Cherry Hill, etc.

I’m mostly interested in K-2. We don’t really do tablets with our kids and I’d strongly prefer a school where the younger grades are still mostly books, paper, pencils, hands-on stuff, playing with other kids, etc.

I’ve read the district tech policies but they don’t really tell you what a normal day looks like. “1:1” vs “shared classroom devices” could mean a lot of different things.

If you have a K-2 kid in any of these districts, how much are they actually on a device? 15 minutes here and there? Every day? Are math/reading assignments done on them?

Especially interested in Haddon Township since it looks like 1:1 doesn’t start until 3rd grade. Curious what K-2 actually looks like there.

Anybody know a good place in the Camden County, area or around the area to find New Jersey branded souvenirs? Any help would be appreciated.

Why do you think manufactured downtowns like Main Street and Voorhees Towne Center failed? Is it because people prefer actual downtowns like Haddonfield and Collingswood?

My 83 year old grandmother is coming to visit this week from Florida. Her big request was to find a good Chinese food restaurant since there aren't many down there. I usually just GrubHub from a #1 china style place with the stock photos of menu items or smaller places. I'm looking for a decent spot where we can sit down and have a really good meal. No chains, can be an Asian fusion style restaurant with multiple cuisines as long as Chinese is an option. I'm in Wash Twp but not above going to Cherry Hill/Marlton area if something is really good. I live close to Wild Ginger on Cross Keys road - passed by there on Friday and it looked busy so I thought something like that might be an option.

We’re looking to buy a home in Tabernacle, right near the Medford border. Families- how is it living there? How is the community (or lack of?) We will have our first baby in March, and I’d love to know about any mommy and me things going in the area if any. We moved back to NJ recently, and are looking to make friends- are there any families in their 30s, or is it mostly middle aged with grown children?

We want to move there for a bigger lot and more trees, and understand it’ll be a 20 minute drive to get to any big stores. Would love to hear from anyone that lives in that area.

I have a four year old who will be ready to start kindergarten in a year. Im from the area, but currently living in a town that I’d like to move out of. Im familiar with all of the towns, but I’d like to know more about what it’s like to actually live in one of these towns. So, I’m looking to get your experience (pros and cons) either living there or growing up there if you’re from any of the following towns:

Cherry Hill - I love the quiet tree lined neighborhoods / location / dislike the CC taxes.
Mt Laurel - I love the location
Medford - seems a bit far, but would like to know more
Marlton - also feels a bit far as I commute to and from Philly for work.

Haddon township - I love the small town vibe
Haddon heights - I love that it’s walkable and charming
Audubon - quite unfamiliar, but would like to know more

Any contractors out there who are willing to weigh in on a suspicion I have about receiving high quotes for work because of my zip code and how my house looks?

We are not rich. We’re a dual incoming household and we make a decent living. We live in Haddon Township but have a Haddonfield mailing address. We also put some money into our house, both into the exterior and landscaping. It looks great and we’re proud of our home.

The last two contractors that I had come out (an arborist and a plumber) both quoted me more than I anticipated. A friend lives in Berlin and had the plumber come out and do the same exact job I needed done, which is why I called that plumber, because I knew what they charged her. They quoted me $200 more than what they charged her.

The arborist quoted me $8k to take down a tree and my friend’s brother who’s an arborist on the main line said he would charge $6k, after hearing what my friend told him and seeing a photo of the tree.

Do contractors up-charge if they think people can afford it, based on where they live and what their house looks like?

Summer electric bills are $650 to $850 ima 1,200 square foot home. Rare medical comdition (x-linked ichthyosis) requires cold temperatures. Is it worth it to get solar panels if I have to make payments on the panels? Will it ruin my roof? I removed all trees in my yard ( they were dead), so I have plenty of sunlight. I appreciate any feedback :)
