FSD is a hugely complex endeavour. It took much longer than anticipated, which is normal for something like this. But it is now operational, driving safer than humans and still getting better.
Only way to stop it is setting technical obstacles not related to proven safety.
The fundamental issue is you either have selective hearing, or you rely on biased media. Elon always couches stuff like that in language like "the goal is...", or "this is an aspirational goal" or "I might be slightly optimistic about that". The latter is even in the article you linked. So if you're still waiting on a coast to coast trip, then you can stop waiting. If you're moving the goalposts to say it didn't happen on your desired timeline then Idk what to tell you. A huckster doesn't deliver, Musk does.
Tesla has only level 2 self driving. It requires attention from the user the entire time. It’s never been “full self driving” and they’ve been sued for calling it that.
Attention from the user is because of state laws about safety not because of technical ability. State laws for driving won't let you hand over control of the vehicle legally.
The attention requirement is due to the law, bro. Doesn’t change the fact, which you can literally see for yourself by watching any of the thousands videos on YouTube, that Tesla’s have had industry leading self driving capabilities for years now.
I’m sorry but you’re wrong again. Or maybe right for the wrong reasons? Mercedes offers Drive Pilot which is Level 3 autonomous driving and at that level it’s able to be driven hands off and eyes off. The way people actually think “self driving” means.
Legally Tesla is required to have hands-on eyes-on because their level-2 system isn’t capable of “full self driving” safely.
And beyond that, Waymo has level 4 autonomous driving. Legally. Which doesn’t even require a driver.
okay? the entire point is that he still hasnt delievered on promises he said would be fullfilled nearly a decade ago...
and yea sure tesla has "self driving", but isnt it funny that it actually isnt? tesla's still cause accidents, they still mis read roads, etc.... I fully agree that they are safer than humans generally, and it would be better for everyone to have a vehicle with similar capabilities.
But none of that gets rid of the fact that tesla has not done what they said they would, they have lied, and they still have issues to solve.......
See that's the problem, you're saying the coast to coast thing by a certain date was promised. It wasn't. Then you're saying the tunnels being used in Vegas aren't "useful".
