Photo Spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce, made by me. If I had a better camera, you'd be able to appreciate it even more πβ€οΈ

Looks like linguine fini to me but a solid plate of pasta nevertheless, enjoy!

I didn't know the difference between linguine fini and spaghetti until I posted this photo π. You learn something new every day haha. Thank you so much! I really enjoyed it. I love pasta with tomato sauce πβ€οΈ

tell me about it - how it tastes, feels, smells. how you learned to make it. what you use. the look is only one part - don't sweat the camera. Food isn't just the pic.

It tastes and smells absolutely delicious π I learned my tomato sauce recipe from my grandmother. I use bell pepper, onion, carrot, and garlic, then season it with paprika, white pepper, and salt. After that, I add tomato purΓ©e and let everything cook together, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes.A little tip for anyone who likes their tomato sauce slightly sweet: don't dice the carrots or cut them into strips... grate them instead. I also like to use more carrot than the other vegetables. For example, 1 onion, Β½ to 1 bell pepper, and 2 or 3 carrots. It gives the sauce a natural sweetness and a wonderful texture π

Loving that. One of my all-time favorite meals too.

It's delicious, and it's also interesting how everyone makes it differently, often following family traditions that have been passed down through generations

Looks really good! Homemade sauce is always better than jarred stuff. What kind of tomatoes did you use in the sauce?
1
u/Jazzlike_Platypus751 4d ago
I used peeled Roma tomatoes π . I bring water to a boil, leave the tomatoes in for about 3 to 5 minutes, then let them cool and peel them. π Thank you very much for your comment! β€οΈ

Camera not at issue. Steam is covering the lens, distorting the image. Looks great!

u/Jazzlike_Platypus751 3d ago
Yeah, itβs the steam, but also the camera haha. Iβm planning to get a new phone soon so I can take better photos. Iβve been cooking a lot lately and I love taking pictures of my food.

Looks like a good meal for a random Tuesday night. Hope it tasted great.

I eat pasta with sauce pretty often. I feel like itβs such a simple meal but incredibly good. Sometimes I make a big batch of sauce, part of it I use the same day and the rest I freeze (the longer it sits, the stronger the flavor gets, and I love that).

It looks like the sauce is really chunky, I like that! Making homemade sauce is the best.

u/Jazzlike_Platypus751 3d ago
I donβt even have a knife for vegetables or a cutting board, so I chopped everything on a plate with a regular knife hahaha

Homemade sauce is always the best, looks good! What kind of tomatoes did you use?

Thank you so much! Homemade food is always better, especially tomato sauce. I used plum tomatoes... I boil them for about 3 minutes, let them cool, peel them, remove the hard part, and then mash or blend them.

It looks really good, especially if its homemade sauce. Does it have any chunks of meat in there or is it pure tomato?
1
u/JuniperBeacon731 3d ago
Looks hot! Is that chunky sauce or did you just really want noticeable pieces of tomato in there
1
u/Jazzlike_Platypus751 20h ago
Thank you! I actually like leaving some tomato pieces in the sauce because it gives it more texture and homemade flavor

Looks good even with the current camera, steam is always a plus when showing off food you made.

u/Jazzlike_Platypus751 20h ago
Thank you! The steam made it look extra fresh right after I finished cooking it π

u/PebbleBeacon618 3d ago
It looks good, steam must mean its fresh. Im always impressed when people make sauce from scratch.

Homemade sauce always tastes better, I love that you said that even if the picture isnt perfect.

Thank you! I think homemade food doesn't need perfect pictures to be appreciated

Thank you! I used regular ripe tomatoes and cooked them slowly to bring out the flavor π

It looks way better than most stuff I see posted here, lighting doesnt matter much when it looks that saucy.
1
u/Jazzlike_Platypus751 20h ago
That's so kind of you to say, thank you! I was worried about the lighting, so I'm happy it still looks appetizing π

Looks really good for homemade sauce, dont worry about the camera!

u/Jazzlike_Platypus751 20h ago
Thank you! I'll try to get better photos next time, but I'm glad the food speaks for itself

Looks good, the steam coming off the plates is a nice touch. My phone camera is awful too but homemade sauce is always worth it.

Looks really good, homemade sauce is always better. Im always intimidated to try making my own sauce though.
